The New Guard: Lilu Kyoki

I'm Lilu Kyoki, and I'm a new guard here at Nanba prison. I have been assigned to cell block thirteen under supervisor Hajime Sugoroku. I was supposed to be meeting my supervisor today but

"Momo, er...warden what do you mean I won't be meeting my supervisor today?" I asked my older sister as she sighs again.

"It's as I said earlier Lilu, Hajime was suspended for three days due to an incident at the new years tournament."

"Ok, well how is this going to work then?" I asked her, pushing my icy blue hair out of my face.

"I have three other supervisors that will watch building thirteen in Hajime's place...you will work with them until he returns," Momoko said before glancing over at me, "and will you please pull your hair back? You look like a delinquent with your hair covering your left eye."

"That was mean, I don't look like a delinquent...it's just the way my hair falls." I pout, crossing my arms.

"Come here, at least get it out of your face so you look professional when the supervisors come in." Momoko said as she walked over and braided my hair back out of my face, tying it back into a high ponytail with a black ribbon. "There we go."

Almost on cue of her saying that the office door swung open and a man walked in talking far too loud.

"Warden Hyakushiki! The supervisors you called have arrived!" The man with the disheveled uniform yelled as he walked in the door.

"Yes, thank you Mizuru." Momoko said, sitting back down in her chair.

"Ooh~ so this must be Hajimes newbie I bet he doesnt know about yet." The man sis called Mizuru said with a smirk.

"U-um, I'm Lilu Kyoki," I said with a slight bow to him before looking over at my sister, "Hajime doesn't know I've been assigned to his building?"

"He will be informed once he returns to work, please let the supervisors know they can come in."

"Of course, miss Hyakushiki." Mizuru said before turning around and leaving the room.

"Interesting guy alright...he's so loud." I said when I could hear his yelling clear through the door.

"You will get used to him, he's pretty entertaining once you do," She said with a chuckle before clearing her throat, "Remember Lilu, no one is supposed to know we are sisters."

"I know, I know. Why do you think I came up with the last name Kyoki? It sounds nothing like Hyakushiki so we will be fine." I said, reaching to play with the hair in my face before I remember sis pulled it up and drop my hand.

"Did you really have to bring that bulky chain thing? I could have just given you a gun." Momoko said, looking over at me and the seven foot chain wrapped around my waist and across my chest with a sharpened hook at the end.

"I like my chain thank you, besides I'm more accurate with this than a gun...I would end up shooting the wrong person if I ever had to use it."

We both stop talking and look at the office door as it opens as three men entered the room. They walk across the room and stop a little ways from Momos desk.

"You wished to speak to us warden?" A tall man with a white and pink ponytail asked.

"Oh, and who might this young lady be, a new guard?" A man that looked like a woman...more like drag queen asked, glancing at me.

"A pleasure to meet you all, I'm Lilu Kyoki." I said formally, bowing to the three men.

"Why she's here will be explained with everything else in a moment." Momoko said, pulled everyone's attention to her.

I straighten back up as the men turned back to the warden as she begins to speak.

"As you all know, Hajime is suspended for three days so his building is without a supervisor. I want the three of you to fill his place until he returns."

"WHAT?!"

The three men look at her in disbelief as she just sits there calmly.

"Why do we have to pick up Hajimes work?!" The monkey boy snapped, clearly not pleased.

"As you wish warden." Ponytail guy said in a flat tone.

"I thought you and Hajime were rivals, don't you have a problem with doing his work?" The drag queen looking guy asked.

"Of course I have a problem with it, but it was an order from the warden."

"Now that thats settled, we will go onto the reason I brought miss Kyoki in here." Sis said, pulling all of their attention again.

"Wow, Momo has all of them under her boot heel. Im impressed." I think quietly to myself as Momoko starts to explain why I'm here.

"She's been assigned to Hajime's building-"

"Pardon the interruption warden, but shouldn't she be added to the orientation with the rest of the new guards?" Monkey asked, glancing at me.

"Normally you would be right Samon, but she's a special case. She will be a regular officer yes, but she will also be an assistant of sorts to Hajime...mainly aiding with cell thirteen."

"Are you really that concerned about those inmates warden?" Drag queen guy asked, "I mean enough to give Hajime an assistant."

"Considering what happened at the tournament, I don't know what those other three are capable of. That's why I have you three watching the building instead of leaving it up to Hajime's deputy supervisor."

"Very well warden, we will see to it that everything runs smoothly in building thirteen." Ponytail guy said before turning around and walking out of the room.

I glance over at Momo to see her staring at me and nudges her head in the direction of the door.

'Oh right, I should probably follow him.'

I take off after him, closing the door behind me as I try to keep up with the man's large strides.
