I let out a sigh of relief as a taxi finally pulled over to the side
I wasn't counting but I was sure I'd been standing under the sun for almost an hour.
If I had started trekking earlier, I was sure I would have made it home by now but then walking home was out of the question, I wouldn't even attempt to, not because it was hot and the sun was feeling merciless today
Or the fact that I had several layers of clothings and I'd probably- no not probably, I will be drenched in my own sweatBut for the sake of my shoes, they were the best pair I had at the moment and I would only wear them on Fridays in an effort to preserve them, long enough so I could comfortably wear them to the start of my Industrial Training program next week

'Oga Weh done,'
I greeted the taxi driver as I made myself comfortable in the back'Anty' he nodded 'where you dey go?'
'CBNN roundabout' I said as I checked my purse to make sure I still had my money and phone with me
'CBNN, Five hundred' he said adjusting the rear view mirror
'five- ah ah, five hundred is too much na! two hundred'
I said shaking my head in disagreement, no way I was going to pay five hundred for a two hundred Naira trip.'Two! Ah no! Anty na five hundred, Person much chop. see fine girl like you, na two
hundred you wan pay? Ah'he exclaimed as he drove off the main road and brought the car to a stop
We later settled for three fifty, the man had stubbornly refused to go any further until we had reached an agreement,I was scrolling through my phone completely unaware of my surroundings when I suddenly jerked off my seat
'What happened?' I asked a bit startled by the sudden stop as I looked at the anxious driver
'I don enter Trouble' he muttered as the door of a black Mercedes in front of us flew open
The driver examined the rear of his car
The car we had collided with
I saw his expression darken as he made his way towards our cab and pulled the taxi's door open like he was trying to rip it away from the car'Get. Down.'
