ERIC MAXWELL

I turned my face to the window as Russell was driving the car. He was humming slightly. I can't restrain my lips from form a smile. His reaction causes me to forget about the bad night. I knew he really wanted this tender. And don't misunderstand because I have no connection with this successful tender. This success is from his diligent effort and never give up attitude.

I merely knew the old man because we shared the same hobby. I don't even know he was the big name although I was from a business family too. Admittedly, I am lacking any information about the big names due have no interest in it. The old man really disguised himself very well. Seems like my skill still in lower rank level. The cold icy face finally shows a little bit of his happiness.

We arrived at the restaurant fifteen minutes earlier and the waiter led us to a private room. Russel and I double check the document once again. In ten minutes, James reached at the room with a light knock. We greeted him. He is wearing a formal attire that entirely changed him from the childish old man I had met.

"Brat, seem like you had picked a real secretary this time. Hohoho... no bad! " James eyed me with a friendly smile.

"Thank you, President." I almost choked with Russel honest answer, although the old man clearly mocked him.

"If you bring the old bitch secretary, I would never spare my time to meet you. No matter how brilliant idea you presented, the bitch will spoil it without doubt." James gave a ridiculous smile to provoke Russel's patience. This man too crafty with an underhanded method.

"My luck, I think." Russel still not lose his cool. "May we proceed with the proposal plan?"

"Hmm, okay because I'd got bored teasing a statue." James flipped the document Russel had given to him. The discussion was going smoothly and I dare say, James was astonishment with Russel explanation. Once a while his lips turned up.

The man not as bad as Russel told me. He just a little hard headed. Aside that, he mostly looks like a grandfather dedicated teaching the younger generation. From a few time interactions, I clearly can see what it was laying underneath his business looks. This man doesn't like flaunting his wealth like some bullshit rich man. If we never met at the party, I may as well still deceived by his common appearance. Now, I wonder what other old man status is. Don't tell me the old man also from the higher class.

Whatever, their status meant nothing to me. We just formed a friendship based on arts interest. Both of old men also kind hearted and modest. James also tactful person not revealing our friendship in front others. That night he only introduced me as art acquainted.

The meeting proceeds in harmony, although once a while, James will throw some mocking word. Appearing this old man really disliked the bitch secretary type. I only laughed from inside. James hand me a little note when we handshaking. This racoon must be more devils in his golden ages.

Let's meet this weekend at Golden Gallery. - I smile when reading James notes when follow behind Russel. We parted at the entrance and I give a slight nod as an agreed sign to James.

"Have you ever meet the old man outside the party? The old man is sly fox and not easily put his trust to someone he just coincidence meet." Russel asked as we get inside the car.

"I had occasional met him a few times in art exhibition or charity program." I tell him.

"No wonder he accepted our tender without batting the price." A smile appeared on his lips. "You're really my angel of luck. Thank you for breaking the wall between me and the old man." Russel put his hand on me.
