Her voices echoes in my ears, sweet like honey dew, but with a drop of darkness. As if she's still hiding something, and I feel as if I can't unviel it. But she isn't the only one hiding something. It seems as if everyone else whispers, but not to me.
I lay on the grass outside school, enjoying the shade of the tree above me. There isn't many people here, and even if there was, they'd be eyeing me and staying away anyways.
Nothing makes sense anymore.
Wendy is a person too, right? I am a person. Everyone else here, are people. But nothing is different in this town. Either you are like us, or you are just another person.
It's only a matter of minutes before I am disturbed, and I'm not sure how to respond.
"James," she says.
I keep my eyes closed, and I feel her hand slip into mine. "What are you doing here?"
"I wanted to see you. I'm on lunch too, you know."
"Is Trevor here?"
"Not anymore. Just me, and you."
The emphasize on 'you' makes me open my eyes, and I look to my right where she begins to hover over me. Her outfit is too revealing "Where's Trevor?"
A malicious grin spreads over her face, and she kisses my cheek. I recoil and begin to sit up. "What do you mean 'Not anymore'? Adelaide?"
"You don't need to worry...it's not importaint."
As she leans torwards me, I smell alchohol. "What the hell Addie! Are you drunk? Or on drugs?!"
She begins to stand up and dance, beginning to remove her croptop. In a panic I grab her before she can and drag her into the school.
I grind my teeth in anger as she slurs her speech into my mind, my tolerance growing lower and Lower.
"Why'd you have to stop the fun? What's wrong Jamessss..."
"I'll tell you what's wrong, you're batshit crazy."
"Ohh, but I thought you liked that in girls? Since you loovvee that devil Wendy..."
Though I felt eyes on me, I continue to drag her along and into the principal's office. She sags under my grip as I enter, the staff with a look of shock and suprise on their faces.
"Where's Principal Moore?"
The vice principal tells me he's busy, but I shake my head and set Adelaide down in one of the chairs.
"I need to talk to him."
Mrs. Lang glances at Addie and sighs. She runs a hand through her blonde hair, taking off her bluetooth. "Just a moment."
Before I can even sit down though, i'm called into the principal's office, along with Adelaide. I'm suprised to see Trevor's parents, and my suspicions rise like dough.
"Please take a seat James." he says.
I don't, but brace my hand on the back of a chair.
"What have you come here for?"
"Nothing but the fact that Adelaide is tripped. She's telling me that Trevor isn't here 'anymore'. Shes just kidding right? Nonsense? She's not actually on drugs or drunk?"
But alarmingly, nobody says anything. Like they know. Like they knew all along. After a moment, Principal Rick looks at Addie and furrows his brow. After a moment he calls in Trevor's parents and Addie's.
When everyone arrives, Mr.Moore explains and points at Adelaide. "How did you know he's gone?"
She laughs. "I got rid of him. He's been playing tricks, he's the one from the woods, he-"
"My baby!" Mrs. Kingston screams. Trevor's dad holds her from falling, and I notice he doesn't show any signs of anguish or horror. His expression is stone cold. "My baby is gone! This crazy bitch! You, you-"
I see the principal begin to dial as Addie begins to doze off into a hazy sleep, and a school security hauls her up and locks handcuffs around her small wrists. When she stands up, one small, shiny lock of blonde hair is stuck to the back of her shirt.
In the chaos of the moment, I am the only one to see it. As she is pulled away, it falls slowly to the ground. Shiny shiny shiny.
I close my eyes and pretend the world is gone.
I am gone.
She is gone.
But I still know who she is even without a world.Re: TrevoR Kingston is dEaD
