What Even Is Love

Chapter 1

It started with a joke. Or a dare I suppose. It was me and my friend, Joanna. It was a crazy idea. It was the third week of school, our senior year. And we were dead set on leaving this school with a memory of who we were. It was a silly idea but it was fun and I wish we had longer.

It was during lunch. Joanna, Matt, and I were sitting at the table eating lunch, like we did since we met freshmen year at the highschool. And then Joanna stood up and yelled at me,

"I dare you too make this year your year!" Joanna yelled at me pointing her finger in my direction.

"Um what?" I asked. Joanna had this crazy, spunky personality. She tends to have these random weird ideas or dares all the time. And I was stuck following them because that's what a best friend does, according to her.

"We have to make the most of our last year here! I mean what have we done to make the school and this town remember us when were gone?" Her blue hair was blowing in the wind as she said this. Her hair was as wild as she was. She had amazing blue eyes to match. She was a gorgeous girl, but with her personality, she tended tonscare anyone away. Except me.

"Last year we painted the principals room purple and glued everything to the side wall. I think we'll be remember Jo." Oh and Matt. He was also able to tolerate Joanna.

"Oh yeah. But that does not count! This is a new year! Clean slate. So now," She again pointed at me. "You must do something crazy! Are you ready. You need to seduce the three hottest guys in this school!" I choked on my spit as she said that. Like I fell on the floor coughing. And dying while her and Matt laughed. "Joking, joking. Just one of them. Your pick. But you have to!" Um what?

"Pass. How is this going to make us stay known in the school anyways?"

"Duh, the hottest guys will be known forever. If you make fall in love with you, you'll be famous. And then by association we will be too. I can see it now. Come on Jas, you have to do this."

"No. Sorry but that's not happening. Anyways, I have to go. I forgot my water bottle in my car and I wanna grab it for PE." I stood up and walked away. As I was walking away I went past the three guys Joanna was talking about. There was Tyler, Austin, and Jackson. I scoffed again at Joanna's idea and walked off with her yelling at me.

"Rethink about it okay Jasper! It could be fun."

Jacksons POV

"You dumbass." I said, laughing at Austin. He just fell off his chair from leaning too far back on it. Hes an idiot.

"Shut up." He yelled as he got back up. At that moment a girl with blue hair came by and grabbed Austins arm. She whispered in his ear and he told her okay with a thumbs up. Me and Tyler exchanged confused looks as she walked away.

"What was that?" Tyler asked.

"Telling me answers for a quiz next period. Anyway Jackson, I have a new dare for you." His eyes were wild and the dare peaked my interest. I waved my hand for him to continue. "You know that girl Jasper Kings?"

"Yeah?" I knew her alright. Last year we bumped into each other and she cussed me out. Then she saw me and started laughing. Why? Because she spilled her pink smoothie all over me and decided I looked soo funny in pink... I was unamused.

"Well, I dare you to try and date her for a year without falling in love with her." He smirked. "If you win, Ill give you my other car. The one I race with." My eyes grew wide. He loves that car.

"Dude are you serious. That's easy! Deal." I was smirking as I shook his hand. I dont fall in love you idiot. This is going to be easy.

Other POV

"Did you do it?" A boy with shaggy blonde hair said.

"Of course I did. She said no, like we thought. How about you? Did he take the dare?" Said a girl with blue hair back.

"Yeah he took it. You had better be right about this Joanna. Im putting my car on the line for this shit." The blonde guy said.

"Of course I am Austin. They already love each other. And Jaspers told me they have a hard past. They'll fall for each other. They need to. Dont you see it?" Austin just nodded his head in agreement.

"Yeah I do. . ."
