||seventeen||

the morning sun blinds my eyes as i'm woken up by ethan. i lift my head and notice we slept in the same bed, "morning" he smiles. i smile back and sit up.

"sorry i fell asleep so early," i yawn. he looks so cute when he first wakes up, "hey, are we like, you know, a couple now?".

"you're so straight forward," he laughs, "i love it though," he smiles before tucking my hair behind my ear, "if you want to be".

i smile and kiss his cheek, "it'll suck when you go back home. a long distance relationship," i sigh, "you could move in with me. here!".

"i'd love too, but your mom would get annoyed at me," he laughs, "besides, i'd visit often".

we lie back down, he yawns-which makes me yawn, "wanna do something today?" he asks.

"like what?".

"i don't know. you live around here, not me" he smiles cheekily.

"well, there's a gorgeous park down the street, it's not like a swing park, more like streams and butterfly gardens and a beautiful view of some scenery".

"sounds amazing, i'll leave you too get dressed. i'll get changed in the bathroom".

i smile and he leaves. it's a gorgeous spring day, so i decide on a little baby pink dress with white converse. i tie my hair in a messy ponytail and leave my makeup off, only applying mascara.

i look at myself in the mirror, i actually feel beautiful today. my phone pings on my bed, meaning i've got a text.

today and tomorrow...
won't be home until
thursday. i love you xxx

that's okay, mom.
mind if ethan stays
over so i'm not alone?

i smile and turn my phone off. i walk downstairs to see ethan on his phone in the living room. when he sees me, i see his face lights up with a smile. he stands up and picks me up, spinning me around as he does, "you're so beautiful!".

i giggle as he puts me down, i kiss his cheek and hold hands as we leave the house.

the park is just as beautiful as i remembered. i haven't been here since i was younger, even though it's just down the road from my house. the memories start flowing in as i spot the butterfly garden, the stream and most importantly, the waterfall.

"you're right," ethan smiles, "it is gorgeous".

"isn't it just," i replying smiling, "the top of that hill is the best. the view is breathtaking".

i take ethan's hand in mine as we run to the top of the hill. we collapse, taking all the view in. it's just as pretty as i remember. with different lakes and ponds, forests and mountains. i want to stay here. in his arms. forever.

ethans phone begins to ring. he takes it out his pocket, it's his dad. he clicks on speaker so we can both hear the conversation.

"hey son. i have some news," sean exclaims, "how'd you like to move back to new jersey?".
