Chapter 11

To say that work sucks is an understatement. Yeah I have a pretty awesome job, writing and working on scripts for video games and animation shorts. But when you have to work with sexist, egotistical pricks; it's not very fun.

Every line they want a female to say sounds flirtatious or like a blonde bimbo. Seriously if they all weren't humans, some sharp object would magically appear under their asses. Currently we were working on a horror RPG game based off the Japanese horror 8-bit style games; and trying to figure out how the killer should jump out and scare the player.

“Simple dude, just make it a jump scare”

“But everyone expects that.”

“Have you not played one of these games dude? That's how they fucking work!”

“Guys....”

“For Christ sakes, just make it the jump scare-”

“No, guys it should be a subtle appearance that begins to follow the character!”

“Oh I like that! That actually sounds creepy as hell!”

“No! Dude! Jump sca-”

“GUYS!” All eyes snap to me. Yeah, being the only female sucks.

“Do both for Christ sake. There will be multiple ways times the killer appears. Make the first time a jump and the several other a slow creeping, stalking crap.” I scoff and toss down my pen.

Okay, so my stress from everything may of exploded on these idiots but I was done with the bickering.

“Abitha, everything alright?”

I sighed and shook my head. “Just a long weekend. Can we call it a day guys?”

They gratefully nodded and began to pack their belongings. I gathered my own notes and tablet before leaving back for my desk. Till a hand grabbed my arm, stopping me from leaving past my chair.

“Seriously Abi, is everything alright? You show up with a bad make up coverup and scratches. Is someone hurting you?” Erik, my supervisor asks. Erik was a sweet guy and the only guy on our team I actually like. His nerdy hipster glasses slip down his straight nose a bit but he makes no move to slip them back up to his dark amber eyes. His blonde hair is styled to perfection and casual business look fits him to a T.

“Yeah, I just fell yesterday hanging out with friends. I tried to skate bored and decided eating the pavement was better.” I gave a pathetic chuckle. “No one is harming me, I promise you that.” I gave him a genuine smile. Though in truth? A lot of people were out to harm me...

“Okay, we'll you can call me any time some one harms you. I know you have though big guys in your life and your brother. But if you ever need an escape from them. You can call me?” He smiled before disappearing for his desk. I sighed, if only I could.
