The drive home to the apartment was long. Everything was tense and awkward. After Randy's and Tamara's little 'mate' bomb. Everyone kinda shut up and remained silent till we parked the SUV.

"Abi you're bleeding," Jefferson whispered once everyone climbed out. I didn't say anything; just reached my fingers up to my cut cheek and felt fresh and dried blood. Damn dog.

"The she-wolf got me before I tied her up." Jefferson was out of the car in no time and was on my side pulling me out and into his arms.

"I'm sorry. I wasn't there to protect you. I let my bond with my brothers blind me from protecting you." His embrace was warm and comforting. But guilt settled over me.

"Jefferson-"

"Jeffery."

"What?" Jefferson pulled me back slightly to smile down at me.

"You can call me Jeffery, only close friends and my brothers do. But I trust you enough Abi. Please?" I smiled up at him with a heated face.

"Okay, but can I call you Jeffy instead?" I giggled and caused him to give me a blank face.

"No. I'm not 5." I only laughed harder and hugged him tighter. After a few seconds I sobered up.

"Jeffery, it's okay. I know you have that strong bond with Lance and Randy. I understood why you back them up. You weren't expecting them to come after me. I'm fine though. Just a few scratches-"

"And a black eye." Well damn.

"And a black eye...but I'm still alive right?"

"They discovered your power Abitha. What if they tell someone?" His cheeriness was gone and here was Serious Jefferson. "We'll have to move you somewhere safer. Somewhe-"

"That's IF they tell. I don't think they will. That pack isn't known for working with Fallen. If anything they hate the Fallen just like the rest of us. We're safe." I put my hands on his face and smiled. Surprisingly he had no bruises or cut anywhere I could see.

"Okay, but starting tomorrow evening after work I'm going to start training you. After tonight I realized how unfit you are for a fight. In case I'm not there or anyone else. You need to learn how to defend yourself." I only smiled.

"Yes sir." I smirked.

"Come on, up to the apartment. I'm sure your boyfriend has something to say about tonight." Jefferson said rather bitterly.

"Not my boyfriend." I grumbled.

A few moments later we were entering my apartment. And it was pure chaos. Aaron was yelling at the guys as Denni was straighening up some furniture that was obviously over turned by someone. My guess would be Aaron.

"There you are! Where the hell were you two?!" Aaron stormed over to us and pulled me away from Jefferson. His embrace was strong but wasn't as comforting. He was angry which translated into the hug. He inhaled my scent like he was a damn dog instead of Tamara; who was currently awkwardly standing by Randy.

I pulled away and glared at Aaron.

"Jefferson was just taking a moment to check on me. Make sure I was fine. See. I'm fine."

"The hell you are! Baby you have cuts on your face and a black eye! Who hurt you? Why didn't you protect her! I'm gonna kill who ever dared lay a hand on you baby girl. You're fucking fired as her body guard. You do a shit job! Let's go get this clean up, sweetie."

"Aaron stop!" I yanked myself out of his arms. God. Are you sure he's a Gifted? Because he's acting like an overprotective mate. "Just. Stop. Jefferson had about 3 wolves on him. I was fine till a she-wolf came up to me. She only managed to swipe at me and do this. I handled the rest. You will NOT be firing Jefferson over this. I like him as my body guard and he's doing a hell of a good job. He promised to teach me how to fight once I'm off work tomorrow.."

"No. I don't allow it. You don't need to learn how to fight, baby-doll. That's what you have us for. You just need to remain safe and hidden. Did anyone see you use your power?" His amber eyes stared into my light ones. With a quick glance I looked at Jefferson; who had on a paniked face.

"No. No one did. I managed to deliever a hard blow to her face and knocked her out surprisingly. I never used my power once." I quickly and easily lied. Everyone exhaled and Aaron didn't seem to catch my lie. Surprisingly. How is he a General?

"That's good," He planted a warm kiss to my forehead. "Come on, let's go clean this up."

"Promise me first that Jefferson can teach me the basics of fighting." I stared into his eyes. Aaron stared me down.

"No. That's final. Now come on." He interlaced out hands and pulled me to the bathroom. I looked at Jefferson for help or something to make him convice Aaron to let him teach me. He only sent me a wink with his famous smirk.

Before I could ask though, I was in the bathroom with the door shutting me out from the group.

"Come, sit." Aaron shut the toilet lid and sat me down. He found the first aid kit and started to get the supplies out.

"I knew I should of gone out with you tonight. Something just didn't feel right with me."

"You think going to the pub to drink is stupid though." I said softly. I winced at the sudden pain in my cheek. Aaron had dabbed on an alcohol wipe to the cuts.

Fuck that seriously hurts!

"Sit still. And I don't like it. But I still should of been with you. Abitha. You're my everything now. I want you safe and unharmed. I don't want the Fallen to get you." His voice lowered. Tears were glossing over his amber eyes.

"Aaron..." I rubbed his cheek.

"Abi, I honestly did make that mistake all those years ago leaving you. I was just afraid we couldn't handle the distance with me in the army and I was scared you'd get a letter saying I was missing or worse..." he involentarily shuttered. "I care to much about you."

"I know you do." I didn't have the courage to look him in the eyes. I knew what was going to be in them but I couldn't stand to see it. "I'm not that little girl that you left all those years ago though, Aaron. I've grown up. I'm maturing. But I'm scared. What if the Fallen get me? How am I going to protect myself. What if you or Jefferson or anyone isn't there to protect me. I can't strickly rely on my power. I want to fight. Please?"

Finally, I looked up and took his face in my hands. Showing him the fear in my eyes. His eyes hardened and a look of determination took over.

"Fine, you can train. But with me."

"No. With Jeff, he won't go easy on me like I know you will." I watched his jaw twitch.

"Okay. Fine, with him. But only for 2 hours. 3 max. A few times a week. I don't want you getting worn out or injured." I held in my eye roll and smiled.

"Thank you." I quickly pecked his lips to show my gratitude. But quickly realized my mistake when I saw his smile and he proceed to capture my lips again. Thinking I gave him permission. He pulled me off the toliet and onto his lap, straddling him.

I pushed on his chest, breaking the kiss. This is not what I need at the moment.

"Woah there," I gave him a nervous chuckle. "We're just woking things out. Don't push it." Aaron quickly nodded.

"You're right. We'll go slow." He released my hips and I proceed to stand up and help him off the ground as well.

"Slowly, right." What did I just agree too?

"Come, I think I heard a few people leave. Let's go to bed." I only nodded and followed Aaron into my bedroom. Our bedroom?

We both quickly got changed, him down to some shorts and I into a large t-shirt. I've made him sleep on the couch the last few nights he was here. But tonight I was to tired and to confused to kick him out.

The apartment was silent aside from Tyler moving around in his room. Everyone must have gone home. Leaving just Aaron, my twin, and myself in the home. Aaron wrapped me in his arms and snuggled up to me. I cleared my mind of what all happened tonight.

The talks with Jefferson, the bar fight, Aaron going protective 'boyfriend', the talk with Aaron, and now this. Only thing left on my mind was what I had on my plate tomorrow for work.
