The day of the tournament had the arena packed. This year it took place in the underworld, vast land of demons.
As the sign in area stood Indra and Nicolas. Indra well dressed and Nicolas wore the mask the lotus gave him as well as a grey hood.
“Nicolas under team grey.” Said Indra to the register man.
“You don’t wanna represent demons this year?” the man questioned.
“No I’m rooting neutral.”
“Think the royal family to do such a thing.”
“Just sign him in.”
“I’m scared.” Muttered Nicolas.
“Don’t worry your families here for you.”
“But I don’t have one…”
“Families those who are there for you, who care for you.” Indra kneeled to him and gave him a little necklace with a feather on the end, followed by a little hug. “Don’t worry you’ll do great, I’ll be watching from the crowd. You represent us with that necklace.”
Nicolas hugged him back. “I’ll win for you then!” Letting his wing out he took off a feather and gave it to Gon. “And for us from me.”
“Thanks. Go win, boy.”
Nicolas ran off into the wait area waving to Indra. “Bye Mr.Gon!”
Vanishing Indra appeared at his seat by the lords of the lands with Nico’s feather in hand. Infra sat bored as Supro sat reading till the battles began. Indra scooted his way over between them trying to make conversation. “So Infra… my students, the little guy right there.” He pointed to little masked Nicolas behind everyone.
“Seems small for this.” She replied.
“He’s just a kid but he has potential, so much of it.”
“Indeed.” Added Supro. “Size matters non in battle of skill.”
“She’s just mad I went neutral this year.” Smirked Indra to Supro.
“The knights of grey are talented but always surrender in the last round, so strange…”
Down in the arena the rounds began. No one but Nicolas wore grey… he was the only one this year so he had to wait for the demons and angels to get their finalists. Waiting he noticed Indra waving to him. Vanishing over he stood between the 2 lords but ignored them completely.
“I have to wait, Mr.Gon till the other teams are threw.” Explained Nicolas.
Indra nervous smiled. “Well you should probably head back then and wait.”
“Let him stay.” Said Infra. “He’ll get bored sitting around. I can say I sure am.”
Nicolas looked at her threw the holes in his mask. “Hi.”
She smiled at him. “Hey there. You better win.”
“Trained by your brother, I have no doubt about his abilities.” Commented Supro.
“I can fight!” said Nico. “But I can’t fly…”
The 2 looked surprised. “What?!”
Indra sighed. “He lost his tail at the hand of a human.”
“Those bastards!” Growled Infra. “Hurting a kid!”
“It’ll put him at a disadvantage.” Supro claimed.
“No worries.” Indra seemed confident. “He’s got this.”
The contest for the youth was first. The rounds passed and Nicolas returned to the arena. It was him, a demon and an angel. The demon a year older than Nicolas, hazel eyes and Cambion horns. The angel was blond with blue eyes and simple antlers, one broken off.
It was a simple last one standing between the 3. As it began the 3 stood still looking to one another as the ground sat silent.
The demon boy vanished toward the angel boy. Blade in hand, the angel created a shield from thin air. Blocking the blade.  Cling onto her shield the demon laughed as he peeped over it and grabbed the girl’s antler. Throwing her he flew over to her. As he flew blue blades formed in the air firing down at the demon. Flying threw them he tacked the angel down sinking his fangs into her shoulder. Letting poison into her. Standing her ground she summoned a silver sword to accompany her shield. The blade turned to air as the hilt and guards stayed. She charged at him then fell on her face. The demon laughed as he stomped her. “The poison got to you.”
Nicolas felt he should stop him and called out to the demon boy. “Stop! You already beat her, I’m your opponent now!”
The demon boy looked at Nicolas. “Are you demon or angel, I can’t tell?”
“It doesn’t matter. I’m here for Mr.Gon.”
“Bravo.” Clapped the demon. Vanishing he appeared before Nico with blade in hand, going for a stab. Nico stepped aside fast enough for the demon to lunge forward and fall. “You little.” The demon stood up and tried again but Nicolas dodged flawlessly. Then shot the demon with a punch to the side.
Mad the demon kid drew his chains. Nicolas waited to use his.  Jumping around them he jumped on the demons back and wrapped his chain around the demons neck.
The ground gasped at the color of his chain. Infra jumped from her seat. “How…its gold?” she looked Indra on the edge of his seat happily watching Nicolas.
Nicolas held on as the demon struggled. Chains flew up grabbing Nico’s arm pulling him off the demon. Dragging him he grew his angel sword cutting it to free himself.
Supro dropped his book, he recognized that sword…same as his.
The demon jumped onto Nico holding his masked face down. “You little… asshole! Just give up like the rest of you greys do!” The mask cracked, demon boy curious pulled it off. “What the…”
Nicolas kicked him off and hood up. “Hey that was a gift.”
“The hell are you?!”
Nicolas vanished and appearing behind the demon me grabbed his horns kicking his feet into his back. Hood fell as his chains grabbed the demons feet and with his golden sword he put the blade to his neck. “A winner.” Smiled Nicolas.
The demon put his hands up and surrendered. Nicolas let go and the demon fell to his knees out of exhaustion.
Nicolas danced around out of joy and waved to Indra.
Indra waved back. “You did great Nicolas!”
“Nicolas…?” muttered Infra.
Supro fascinated waved to Nicolas. While Indra seemed off.
“That was worth the wait.” Indra sighed out of relief. “I told you he’d win. Even without wings.”
“You brought him here… in front of everyone in the kingdom!” she spat. “How could you?!”
Indra smirked. “Don’t be so mad, he’s your son after all.”
“He’s right. It’s definitely him, I know my sword from anywhere.” Commented Supro happily. “He’s grown so much!”
“He’s a monster, Indra!” barked Infra. “You brought him here!”
“He’s just a kid, your kid!” argued Indra. “You left him with no family to protect him, none to raise him. You don’t understand how it feels to have no family as a kid, have people look at you like your lower than trash, mistreat you for a mistake your parents made! It hurts more than any wound, to feel worthless and unwanted…”
“I don’t care… get rid of him…”
“Infra!”
Indra met a blade threw his stomach. Dagger of Infra. Supro caught Indra felling back. “Calm down!” demanded Supro. “He’s your brother!”
“I don’t care!” she fired her blade at Nicolas as he stood happy with victory in his hands.
Indra vanished to Nico’s side. Blocking the blade from hurting Nicolas. Nicolas stumbled back in terror at Indra’s blood on him. “M-mr.Gon...” stuttered Nico.
“You did well, my boy…” Indra coughed up some blood. “I’m sorry… it didn’t… go as planned…”
Indra’s chains grabbed Nico. “What, why? Don’t send me back!”
“I have to… else your mom will kill you…” he fell on his hands and knees. “Don’t resist, I’ll find you… we’re family right?”
Nicolas pulled back into the human world. “Mr.Gon…” he held his feather necklace and wept in the street. His angel horn lost all peddles and  leaves withered away.
People passed by without a care. Days passed and Nicolas returned to the abandoned house of beggars. They welcomed him back with lots of questions.
Back to his meaningless life, he did as always, wondering the town hoping for something to change. Life was simply boring… lifeless waiting for Indra of he’d ever come. Tripping over his own feet his fell into the cold snow. To tired and weak to move. Hungry and freezing someone picked him up, holding Nico in their arms he asked. “Nicolas? Correct?”
“Mr.Gon…?” he muttered.
“No. Uh… I’m not sure how to explain this to you. If I’m incorrect feel free to correct me but I happen to believe you’re my son.”
Nicolas looked at the man holding him. “You’re… the angel king…”
“Yes. If you don’t mind me asking but why are you in the streets?”
“I don’t have a home to go to… I’m a monster…”
“You’re a kid. Stop being so down.”
“I can’t help it, I’m hungry.”
Supro sat down sitting Nicolas against him. He pulled out a half-eaten sandwich from his pocket. “It’s partially eaten but it’s something in the least.”
Nicolas didn’t care and ate away. “Thank you.”
“Nicolas, if you don’t mind would you like to come to the Overworld with me?”
“Overworld?”
“It’s what humans unrealistically call heaven and their people angels.”
“You want me to go there?”
“Of course, the only reason you didn’t from the start was she thought it was better to leave you amongst humans. Believe me I wanted to take you with me. Thankfully your uncle entered you into the contest and I got to see you again.”
“Indra entered me to find my real family… I miss him.”
Supro stood up and set Nicolas on his shoulders. “He succeeded. Now to the Overworld, I have unfinished business there.”
Before him the air broke in half showing a strange hole, stepping threw they appeared in a new world. Shy blue with clouds streaking its canvas, a city stood of gold and glass, shimmering in the sunlight.
“It’s big…” said Nicolas
“My home land, the Overworld.”
“What are we gonna do here?”
“Well you can live here with me?”
“Forever?”
“Well until you’re an adult. Maybe you can unite the realms. Your bloods royalty.”
“I guess.”
Through the busy streets they went. Everyone working on something. To a temple he brought Nicolas. Inside was a golden gate. “And here we are. Temple of Eden.”
“What?”
“When angels come of age they are sent into Eden.”
“Like the one Adam and eve sent into?”
“No. That’s Gi’s Eden, this here is Caelum’s Eden.”
“Is it beautiful?”
“Well the thing is when you leave it you forget its looks but you keep the experience. Strange dimension we send the young into.”
“So will I go?”
“Not at the moment but you shall soon. For training purposes. You’ll need to be a proper angel. Step one is tranquility.”
“Is it hard?”
“Well I can’t give you answers to the problem. You’ll have to figure it out with your own knowledge to pass the test.”
Supro then brought Nicolas to the academy where angels were trained in combat. Then to the castle they went. Angels in armor stood at its doors welcoming the two inside. Setting Nicolas down, he asked. “So what do you think?” smiled Supro. “Awesome, right?”
“Sure.” Sighed Nicolas as he flopped over onto the cold floor.
“Don’t be so down, Nicolas. I’m sure you’ll have fun being here.”
“K…”
“Let’s go pick out a room for you.” He picked Nicolas up, setting him on his feet. “Wanna eat first?”
“Yeah…”
“Alright, you can stuff your face then get some rest. Tomorrow we can hang out.”
