Mystery Boy's POV
Today I moved in to this pathetically small town so that Josh could be closer to work. I can't believe my mom would fall for such a guy. She just replaced my father so quickly after his death. I had barely been given time to grieve before she latched onto a new man. She settled for much less if you ask me.
Taking a break from unpacking boxes I looked out my window to take in my surroundings. I can't see much of anything from my window except for the house next door. When I looked down I saw a ledge. Deciding to check it out I worked open my old window and popped out the screen. The ledge is a perfect slope that allows me to sit down comfortably. I glanced at the open window in front of me and saw a girl. Her long hair hung over the side of her bed in soft golden curls. She was dressed for warm weather, unlike me who moved from colder temperatures and hadn't been able to find my summer clothes in all these boxes. She was laying on her bed with a book held above her small face. She is beautiful. But I don't have time for beautiful.
"Alice, get down here. It's time for dinner." With her window open I could hear her respond with a sigh. She took her time standing up and putting her book away. She turned to close her window and I realized that my position would very shortly be given away. I scrambled to my feet almost falling off the ledge into my window. Looking back her brown eyes were looking into mine. A playful smile danced on her lips and I could only imagine what I looked like to her. I wondered exactly how much she had seen.
