Mystery Boy's POV
"Rowan, Jack and I are done with your attitude. We have decided that you need to get a job. We are starting fresh here and so should you. Make some friends, get a job. That's your goal, alright?" To be honest I'm not surprised that that man is using my mother to change my life. But I'm not thrilled. I couldn't be too mad at my mom though. She's all I have left.
"Okay ma. I will."
"That's what I like to hear. Now how about some spaghetti for dinner?" She bent down to kiss my forehead and I smiled at her mention of my favourite meal.

The days went by slow. I got a job working at the local diner. The girl next door had her curtains drawn since we moved in. I wish I knew her name. I was in my room working on a remix that I had been messing with. I was getting too hot in my room so I decided to take my computer outside on my ledge. It was then that I noticed she had opened her curtains and seemed to be drawing something on her own ledge.
I went back and forth between going out there or staying in here and boiling in my room. I bit the bullet and took possible awkwardness over death. I opened my window and cringed at the loud creak it made practically screaming for attention. She looked up and then kept her eyes on her page. I kept my own eyes down and stepped onto the ledge. I was just about to put my headphones on when she spoke.
