Dinner with my friends

The next morning I wake up and look around. I look at my phone and see that Quinn texted
Quinn - Hey, Heather said we should go get some breakfast. Want me to come pick you up?
Elise - Yeah, give me about 1/2 hour... wanna look good ;)
I fix my hair real quick and get in my car. I drive to the house and see Daniels car. I open the door and see him on the couch, I hurry up and go upstairs and change real quick the tiptoe downstairs and back out the door. Just as I shut the door Quinn pulls up. I get into his car
Quinn - Where you wanna eat?
Elise - I don't care, you can pick.
We pull into a McDonald's and I look at him
Elise - Really?
Quinn - I know lots of people will be here, look there packed... kinda
We get our food and sit down at a small booth.
Quinn - Are you gonna introduce me to your friends one day?
Elise - Yeah, one day.
He nods and looks hurt.
Elise - Wanna meet them today?
Quinn - I would love too!
Elise - Alright, we can have dinner. All of us.
Quinn - This is gonna be great!
I see lots of people taking pictures of us and then I get a text from Sarah
Sarah - See your car is here, where r u?
Elise - Out with a friend. Be back soon.
Quinn - Who's that?
Elise - Who?
He points to Jonah.
Quinn - He keeps looking at you. Like non-stop. But it's not that like "check out" look.
Elise - Oh! That Jonah, he ones of my buddies.
Quinn - He gonna be at the dinner?
Elise - Probably. You almost done.. a lot of people are looking at us and taking pictures.
Quinn - Isn't that the point?
Elise - Yeah but this is more that usual. Let's go.
We pull into the house
Elise - I'll text you about the-
Quinn - Why can't I come in?
I look and sees Danial's car is still there.
Quinn - There a problem?
Elise - No! Come in.
I open the door and Daniel stands up from the couch and starts to say something but stops as Quinn comes in behind me.
Daniel - Who's this?
Elise - Daniel, this is Quinn.
Quinn - Hi, I'm Quinn.
Daniel - Right! Your boy-
He looks at the ground the walks out the door.
Quinn - Who was that?
Elise - Another one of my friends.
Quinn - I think he has a crush on you.
Elise - Want anything to drink?
Quinn - Did you see how he left once you remembered I was your boyfriend
Elise - Wanna watch some tv or something? Or how about you meet Sarah, she's my best friend.
Quinn - Do you like him?
Elise - I have a boyfriend.
Quinn - I'm your boyfriend!
Elise - Yeah, I know.
We watch tv then Sarah comes down the stairs
Sarah - Elise, Who's this?
Elise - This is-
Quinn - I'm Quinn.
He gets up and shakes Sarah's hand
Sarah - Oh, where's Daniel?
Elise - He left, do-
Quinn - Want to eat dinner with me and Elise, she's going to invite all her friends so I can meet them.
Sarah - Even Daniel?
Elise - Well-
Quinn - Of course! Everyone she knows imma know soon! Elise you should text everyone right now about it.
Elise - Daniel blocked me....
Sarah - I'll make a group text.
Quinn gives her his number and she makes the group text.
Elise - Hey, so you guys want to each dinner with me tonight? I'll pay.
Corbyn - I'm in
Jonah - I'll be there
Zach - Your paying?!? I would come even if you weren't but that's just a plus!
Jack - I'll come
Samantha - I can come, I get out of work at 4:30 so that will work for me
Daniel - I'll come. But you don't have to pay for me.
I look at Quinn who has a smile on his face
Quinn - So everyone is coming?
Elise - Yep.

Elise - Right, so this is Jonah, then we have Sarah, next to you is Zach, Samantha is Sarah's sister and one of my friends, Corbyn is over there, and Jack is next to him and Daniel is the one you-
Quinn - The one who likes you?
All eyes turn on me including Daniels.
Elise - No, I think I'm going to go home.
I get up and walk to the front entrance but before I can get to the door Daniel grabs my arm and stops me.
Elise - Please-
Daniel - I'm sorry- I'm sorry for breaking up with you and just everything! I know you don't like him, please give me-
Elise - You may be right. I may not like him like I liked you, but you hurt me really bad.
I had already felt bad about leaving you and then you break up with me- it was too much. I just want to be alone for a second. I'll probably come back in because I am Quinn's ride.
I walk out and walk around the building. My mind is pretty much blank.... just then Heather calls me
Heather - Elise! How are you doing babe?
Elise - Pretty good. How are you?
Heather - Don't worry about me love. How's Quinn?
Elise - Good, he met all my friends and they seem to be doing pretty good.
Heather - I saw you two went to McDonald's today!
Elise - Yeah. It was lots of fun.
Heather - Well I was just calling to check up on you love. Talk to you soon!
I see a couple walking a cute doggie on the sidewalk as I start to walk back into the restaurant. I go over to them
Elise - Hi, I'm sorry but I was just wondering what kind of dog you had?
They both look down at the dog and smile
Lady - She's a mix of... who knows what! We just got her from the pound.
Elise - Awww, wells she's really really cute!
Guy - Thanks, can we have a quick photo of you. My sister is a huge fan of yours.
Elise - Oh! Of course!
We take a quick pic and go our separate ways. I start to open the door of the restaurant but then stop. I go into my car and start to drive with a puppy in my mind.
