They trudged back through the devastation and back to the vehicles, loaded up inside them and drove off. John took the two officers in the vehicle with him. As he was driving, he took notice of one soldier continuously peering over to him. The awkward silence had him uneasy, and after hours of cruising, Johns patience wore thin. The agonizing annoyance finally caused him to snap at the trooper.

"What the fuck are you looking at me for? If you have something to say then fucking say it."

The officer just turned his head away and peered out of the window.

They arrived at the base around midday. Fatigue swept over them as they pulled up to the massive metal door and radioed to the gate control to have the door open. The gate swung open and reached the end of its cycle. It smashed into the giant rubber pads on either side of the door's edge, causing the ground to quake from the immense force. John and the other cars moved in forward, and to allow the door to close behind them. They descended a long corridor to the wide field, received the directions for where to park by a soldier, and parked.

As John stepped out from his car and started on his journey to the door, a bunch of oddly dressed military men, with arm bands that read "MP" were awaiting there to greet him, with their weapons trained.

"What the hell is going on?" John questioned.

The soldiers looked at him. One walked up and began talking.

"Sergeant John Stewart. We have orders to take you in."

Sean ran over and shouted at them.

"What the hell are you doing? Why is John getting arrested?"

One officer that resided with them, tiptoed forward.

"I put in a report of what all happened back there, and I told them everything about your buddy John here."

John looked at him with a puzzled demeanor, his eyes squinting at this small man in distrust. Sean shot his head to John and then to the soldier and yelled.

"I don't know what happened back there either. So much was going on to keep track. I don't know how John moved like that and how he took down all those creatures, but there's no reason to arrest him for it."

John glared to Sean with a confused face and then looked at the captain and defended.

"All I did was defend us, and it was luck that we beat those things, and luck that we won."

The officer blurted back the instant he finished. "That was not luck, nobody has been able to kill even a few of those creatures, not to mention the black things, and you killed them as if you knew everything about them. You move just as fast and swiftly as them. And..."

John re actively argued back. "What are you talking about? No, I don't. I move just like everyone else. I may have some hidden talents, but that's it." He took a moment to breathe and continued in a questioning tone. "Right?"

Sean and Greag looked over at John, paused and then Greag opened his mouth and replied.

"No John, you honestly moved faster than we could see and you threw one of those things. If you didn't notice, they're huge and extremely heavy. They put a dent in the concrete after you threw it for fucks sake."

John stood there in utter shock. The officer once again ordered out for the MPs to detain John. As the MPs walked over to apprehend him, a high-pitched noise came from behind them, and before anyone could turn to distinguish what it was, one of the black creatures appeared between the mix of everybody, as if it had teleported to that location. It turned its head side to side, looking around at everybody. In reaction one of the MPs pulled his pistol out from the holster and aimed at the creature, but before he could pull the trigger, it advanced to him.
