"Cheers!" My friends yelled around me as they took a shot of alcohol, vodka to be more precise.

"Cheers," I said in a monotonic voice. I was the only one sober even though it was my birthday, sadly I was the designated driver of the night.

My friends on the other hand, were drunk as hell. Most of them were stumbling all over the place like newborn Bambi.

"Come on Maya! Take a shot with us! It's your birthday!" My friend Maria slurred as she tried to push a shot of tequila to my face.

I pushed it away, "Maria, go have a glass of water." I patted her shoulder and ushered her to get a glass of water from the bartender.

"Why aren't you dancing, Maya? Come on! There's some cute boys over there." My other friend Miranda, said into my ear.

"As much as I hate being single I need to keep my eyes on you guys. Stop worrying about me and go dance," I shrugged assured her.

"Okay!" She yelled through the music as a guy grabbed her hand to dance. I stared down at the only bottle of beer I was going to have tonight. I swear, this was pretty boring. I would've been more happier if I stayed over with my family, have a normal birthday cake, and hanging around. Instead, I'm chaperoning my friends.

My friend Cassandra sat beside me. She seemed to be sober as well. She grinned to me, "Guess who is at this club?"

"Who?" I asked as I took a sip from my bottle.

She squealed, grabbing onto my arm, "Chicharito! Rafael Marquez, Ochoa, and some other futballers from the Mexican National Team."

"And?" I questioned as if it didn't matter to me.

She squealed even louder, "Chicharito is staring at you!"

I laughed, "You're kidding me right? He's just staring at the beer menu or something."

She shook her head, "No! I swear, he's staring right at you. Go talk to him."

I leaned against my arm, "I really don't feel like talking to anyone." I took a deep breath, "I'm going to go outside for a few minutes. Make sure none of the girls get into trouble." I grabbed my purse and made my way outside.

I walked to the park that was just across the street. I went straight to the playground structure and took a seat on the swings. It was a windy night and my hair blew all around my face.

I put my hair in a messy ponytail and huddled myself into the small jacket I had on.

I was wearing a small black leather jacket, sleeveless white shirt, black shorts with black laced leggings underneath. I had black converse on too.

I knew I wasn't going to come home around anytime soon so I pulled out my little cake that I bought at a store earlier that day. It was just a four by four inch cake that was just a normal slice. I pulled out my little candle and lighter. I lit candle, shielding it with my hand so the wind wouldn't blow it away.

"Happy birthday to me, happy birthday to me, happy birthday to me, happy birthday to me." I sang to myself. I blew the candle and closed my eyes. I made a wish that I hoped would come true. I opened my eyes and sighed deeply. Oh well.

I heard loud clapping behind me. I turned around to find someone.

Javier Chicharito Hernandez.

"You scared me you know that?" I laughed. I was surprised that I could speak so freely to a celebrity. Maybe I just didn't care.

He smiled, "May I sit?" I nodded. He took a seat beside me on another swing. He grabbed onto the chains, "I take it that it is your birthday?"

I nodded, "Yeah."

"I'm-"

I interrupted him, "Don't even start. I know who you are, Javier. You're that futbal player from Manchester United and you're currently on the Mexican National Team for Fifa World Cup. I saw the game for Brazil and Mexico. You guys played well even though you were a benchwarmer."

He shrugged, "I'm fine as long as I get to see the game. It's all about supporting the team. I hope you don't mind me asking but what's your name?"

"Maya Lopez." I answered to him.

I removed the candle from my cake and took out a spoon. I found out I had apparently brought several other spoons for the girls so I decided to give one to Javier, "Here, you want to share?"

He smiled at me and nodded. He grabbed the spoon and began to dig in along with me.

"How did you know I was here?" I asked him.

"I saw you just sit there in the club and you seemed bored. I watched you as you left and followed you here. Wait-that made it sound like I was stalking you. That's not what I meant," he rubbed his face with his free had to hide his embarrassment.

"It's fine. I just didn't want to babysit my friends so I decided to come out here. So tell me superstar, what are you doing out here in the States when you should be in Brazil?"

He took another piece of cake into his mouth and said, "My tia lives here in Los Angeles and she desperately wanted me to come so I brought some friends."

Half of what he had just said went out my ear because I was distracted by his attractive accent.

I felt my body become extremely stiff. I quickly regained my composure and looked at Javier again, "I think I better go. You can have the rest of the cake. I'm afraid I won't be hungry after I watch my best friends throw up. It was an absolute honor to meet you, goodbye." I stood up to leave.

"¿Puedo tener su número?" He asked for my number.

"Aquí, esta es mi dirección de trabajo, parar y podría yo darle mi número," I handed him the location of my workplace.

'Here, this is my work address, come by and I might give you my number.'

"Maya has a boyfriend! Maya has a boyfriend!" I heard one of my friends screech. I looked at the entrance of the bar to find all of my friends talking to her. "I have to go." I waved at him and ran back to help my friends.
