"so, did she lift the call?" namjoon went back to his living room bringing a tray of food. he had a smug smile on his face. he never imagined that the man in front of him will be much as whipped when he falls in love with a human.

or did he really fell in love? all he knows is that he's happy whenever he's with her.

is it that fast? no, Taehyung felt the rush and the electricity when he saw his own reflection on her eyes. her eyes that can show anything and from tehen, Taehyung was sure what he was feeling, he cannot name it but he is sure enough he felt the rush he wasn't feeling in a long time now.

but she's human. do mermaids and humans cannot fall in love with each other? all  his actions had consequences. either he cannot go back to their world anymore or worst, her death.

"I hung it up, immediately." Taehyung said and grabbed a cookie from the table. they were about to watch a movie but Taehyung decided to learn a few more basic things and namjoon was more than willing to teach.

"hyung, I want to buy a phone." Taehyung whined and Namjoon can't help but to smile at his cuteness.

"let's buy you one tomorrow." Namjoon smiled at him but he maintained a pout.

"What? I meant buying my own phone with my own money." he said.

"but Taehyung, you don't have to be. I'll promise I'll buy you one, no need to repay me." Namjoon said.

they shared more of the time, learning some basic inside the house, how to converse with a person and many basic things. Taehyung enjoyed learning so much he can take up any lesson within a minute.

it wasn't that hard for namjoon since taehyung also did better than he expected. everything was going on well and the night came down as usual. it was already ten in the evening when namjoon's phone rang.

he excused himself and Taehyung did not mind at all.

"what now, Yoongi?" he asked nonchalantly.

"is the specimen with you? the director needs sample of his skin and his flesh next two weeks."

namjoon sighed, it hasn't been long since they were getting along better than before but it hurts him that he id still subject for experiment.

"he is." he exhaled.

"it's hard, yoongi. why can't we just take samples from a different specie?" he suggested. hoping he should consider.

"namjoon, I know you have fascinations for their kind but please, it our work, I don't want to mess a bit."

he sighed and hung the line up.
