Jennifer knew that the moment she denied Lana with going to the movie night that she was starting to push away from the people she cares about. She doesn't want anything bad to happen to them, everything that is happening is her fault.
Jen curls up on the couch with her phone in her hand as she scrolls through Instagram to waste some time. She can't post anything saying she's bored or Lana will see it at make her come over for the movie night. Ginny doesn't have any social media and hasn't for a while so everyone is freaking out when Lana or Bex posts a picture of Ginny with them. She reads the comments and everyone is asking if Jen was there too, some were rude saying that 'of course she wasn't Jmo and Lana aren't friends.' She never understood that rumor going around, maybe it was how she always steers the questions to CaptainSwan but that's not because she doesn't like the brunette. It's because CaptainSwan is what is in the show, she doesn't want to stoke the fire about SwanQueen when Emma is in love with Killian and not Regina. Yes that would have been an amazing story and she would have been more than happy to do it but that's not what they went with.
Jennifer likes the photos and continues on with her life, she starts a movie and pats her leg so Ava will jump up on the couch and cuddle with her. "Good girl," she smiles at the fluffy white dog. A few moments later her phone buzzes with a message and her body tenses unsure of who it was going to be. She physically relaxes when she saw that it was Lana then she rolls her eyes, of course, the brunette was going to try and guilt her into going but she can't.
Jennifer laughs despite herself and shakes her head, their friend is a complete lightweight. When they had to do the bar scene they were each given one beer to drink throughout it and Ginny got drunk. It was hilarious. She doesn't respond because she won't be going to the next one either but she can't tell that to Lana or she'll realize that she isn't really busy tonight. She puts her phone over on the counter and cozies into the couch ignoring the buzz of incoming messages or notifications to watch her movie.

Jennifer ends up pausing her movie in the middle so she can go get food, she forgot to go grocery shopping so there aren't any options in her fridge. She puts on a simple dress that she has, it's not showy and it's extremely comfortable. Leaving a sad Ava she walks out of her front door and heads to the closes take out place that she knows. Once she's inside she feels her phone buzz again and she pulls it out getting a little annoyed with the amount of buzzing it had been doing lately. She expected it to be Lana or someone at the movie night but instead, it was him... A regular text would have been okay- well maybe not okay but it's what she's used to. instead, it was a picture of herself:
She had been ignoring her messages earlier thinking that they were everyone else but in reality, it had been him messaging her. If she had known she wouldn't have left her house, suddenly she feels trapped and doesn't know what to do. When she looks at the messages before the picture she literally sits down nervously in one of the chairs where people wait for their food.
Tears fill her eyes but she can't cry, she won't. She's just scared and she needs a minute to calm down before going back outside. Maybe if she waits long enough he won't be there and then she won't have to deal with him. Every person that walks into the restaurant after her makes her jump, she maintains eye contact with each person until they look away and then she feels safe.
She sits there for a solid 30 minutes before someone approaches her about the order she wants, she jumps but covers it up with a nervous smile and then tells the people what she wants. Jen still has to wait for it to be made and then put together so she feels somewhat safe in the building. She is not looking forward to heading back home.
---
Eventually, her food is done and given to her in a bag, she already paid when she ordered so she is able to leave. Her feet are frozen inside the door though, they won't budge. Every second that she thinks about stepping outside, her heart beats a little faster. She can hear it and feel it in her ears. Then her phone vibrates and it's a notification from Lana, she swipes it open and calls her not hesitating for a minute. If she stays on the phone with the brunette for the walk home then she will be safe.
"Jen?"
"Hey," she says simply and opens the door to leave the restaurant finally.
"You okay?" Lana answered when she was still in a loud room, she either got them to shut up and turn off the movie or she left the room.
"I'm good, just how's the movie?" She swallows hard and refused to look around at people, if she spotted anyone looking at her she would start panicking and wouldn't be able to tell if they were a fan or this asshole who is making her scared to be outside.
"Uh... It's good?" In the background, Jen hears Ginny shout 'HI JMO' followed by distinct peals of laughter. "Ginny had her beer and we told her no more but she wants a second one since she's 'fine'"
"Good," Jen walks a little faster and every time that someone passes her she tenses into what could be mistaken as a rock.
Lana listens to the sounds on the other end of the phone and tilts her head curiously, "What are you doing? Where are you?"
"Oh- uh. I was just getting food and heading back to my place." She accidentally makes eye contact with someone, a guy, he is looking straight at her and she stops walking. Her face pales and she doesn't know what to do, "I-um-I" She tries to speak to Lana but she can't manage a word.
"Jen, what's going on?" Lana stood up from the couch that she was sitting on with the other women, the moment that she put on her serious voice everyone's giggles disappeared and they looked at her waiting to make sure Jen was okay.
"I-" She felt like she was going to throw up, he was getting closer and he had a huge smile on his face. Everything inside of her told her to run or scream, anything.
Lana couldn't breathe, she didn't know what was going on and that was the worst feeling possible. "Jennifer Morrison! What is happening!"
The man made it to her and Jennifer was standing there with the phone in her hand help up to her ear. Her face was a sheet of paper and her eyes were glistening with fear.
