One Day I'll Fly Away....

Prologue

We all stayed silent as this stranger walked into our home. How did he find this place? Did he follow me? Whatever. I doesn't matter. He needs to go and we need to ensure he doesn't lead any other humans here. 

The boys looked over at me quite unsure of what to do. Flashes of rising fear struck in their eyes. I don't blame them. This has never happened before. Even I was on edge a little. But I had to stay strong and remain in control of the situation. I looked over at Kanani and gave him a curt nod. He returned it and looked at the stranger, using his gift to analyze the boys movements and body patterns, looking for any weaknesses. 

' He looks to be about 19..20 years of age. His back is a little hunched over. Could be a spinal or recent back injury. He's favoring his left leg. A sprain perhaps. And he has a brace on his right wrist.' He finishes and looks back over to me. I look down back at this stranger. I could sense the fear coming off of him in waves. Yet also sense determination. 

" Hello?" Judging be his voice he was more than terrified. ' He should be' Lucas growled, looking about ready to kill the guy. " I-I saw you come in here. I'm ju-just want to talk." I knew who he was talking to. The boys seemed to preoccupied with giving the guy death glares to notice. I got to give it to this guy. He is definitely persistent. And not so bad on the eyes, now that I have a good look at him. Adam growls at my thoughts but I ignore it. 

" You don't have to be afraid.You don't have to live like this. I can help you." Stranger said with a newly found confidence. Now I growled. Loudly. Stranger looked around frantically, his confidence shattered. How dare he! He had no right! I realized I was now shaking, ready to kill him. I could feel  the boys eyes on me, waiting for my instruction. I continued to look at the boy. Just as quick as my anger appeared, it started to roll off of me and replaced with curiosity. Don't ask me I don't know why. 

"Please, let me help you." Never mind. It's back. I could feel my eyes dilate and I'm pretty sure they were a bloodshot red about now. I was shaking more violently, you could here the metal and pipes holding us us rattle. 

' Lyra. What do you want us to do?' 

' Take him.' They lunged.
