"I'm not a killer. I'm not a killer. I'm not a killer.", I chanted in my room I was staying in. I felt very uneasy about what David had said and about what I almost did back in the woods. David said he didn't want or need a shrink, but I was sure that I would need one by the end of this vacation. I heard a knock at my door. "Yes?", I tried to sound sane. "Tori, there's a phone call for you downstairs.", Brenda said. "Ok, I'll be right down.", I said. I grabbed my purse and went downstairs to answer the phone. "Hello?", I answered the phone. "Tori?", a young girl asked. "Yes?", I asked unsure of who it was. "Oh thank goodness!! Tori, it's Star. Michael and I have been trying to reach you.", she said relieved. "Oh my God, Star!! Something's happened to me. I want to kill people!! I mean-I don't want to actually kill people at all, but ever since David fed me his-", I looked at Brenda who looked shocked, "Special wine.....I had adrenaline rushes and felt so out of control. Star, what's happening to me?" "Tori, you really don't know? Think about it.", she sounded desperate for me to find out for myself and answer her.

I thought about it, and then realized just what kind of situation I was in. David was a vampire and he fed me his blood. That means that I was a vampire. I started to breathe uneven. "I-I'm ....I'm a-vampire.", I cried. Brenda looked very confused. I dried my tears, and listened to Star's voice, "Tori, you're not one yet until you kill someone. Have you killed anyone?" "Star,", I heard Michael's voice behind her. I thought about it, and sighed. "Oh my God I almost killed that man in the forest!!", I cried some more. "Tori, it's ok. Did you suck his blood? Or did you just kill him?", Star asked. I thought about it. His neck didn't break under my hands, and although he turned purple, I did let him go and could see and hear him gasp for breath. It was David who killed him. Brutally. "No,", I caught myself from vomiting as I vaguely remembered the horrific scene, "I didn't suck his blood. Or kill him."

"Good. Now listen carefully.", Star instructed me, "The Frog brothers have come up with a plan, and have gone to Hudson's Bluff. They want to see if they can draw them out of hiding. If they can't draw them out, then we all will meet back at Michael's house. Now Michael and I will be at the boardwalk around 6pm at the carousel. You think you could meet us there?", Star asked me. "Yes.", I said with a shakey voice. "Oh and Tori?", she added. "Yes?" "You're braver than you think.", she said reassuringly. "Thank you.", I said with a lump in my throat. When I hung up, I turned to see a very confused Brenda stare questionably at me. I wiped away my tears and smiled in her direction. It was a forced smile, and I could tell that she knew better. "We're doing a play. It's called, 'Vampire Carousel'. We're still working on the title. It's for Halloween, so it's supposed to be scary.", I lied as I ran upstairs to my room to take a shower.

I wore my hair down and curled it a little. I wore my grey distressed skinny jeans that fit like a dream, black boots, dusty rose pink cami, and black leather jacket. For my makeup I wore a little bit of eyeliner, blush because I was looking pale, and tons of mascara. I looked at my faded reflection in the mirror. I looked pretty good, for a dead girl. I headed into town and walked by the police station and the morg. I overheard a cop say, "We've got another one." Then walking by the morg, I saw a body in a body bag. The hand fell out of the bag. "That's the twenty-sixth animal attack this week.", I heard the mortisioner say, "You think animal control would've got the animal by now." "Looks like a bear got a hold of her.", his assistant said. "Bears in Santa Carla? Yeah right.", the mortisioner said back to his assistant. They both looked at me like I was crazy because I was staring. I quickly looked away and kept walking. Anyone that I told would think I was crazy if I told them vampires existed and lived in Santa Carla. It was obvious that the police wouldn't be able to do anything. The Lost Boys were top level predators. 'I'was a top level predator. I felt uneasy about that thought. I kept walking and walking until I heard my name.
