Knock. Knock.
Mikasa turned over in her sleep, pulling the duvet closer to her.
Knock. Knock.
Mikasa groaned lightly as she flipped the duvet back. "What is it?" She asked.
"You need to get up kas, today is moving day." A stern voice said from behind the door.
"Right, moving day...", Mikasa mumbled with very little enthusiasm. She didn't really want to move out of her cousins house. They had been together for as long as she could remember and the thought of living without him was making her nervous to say the least.
"Kas?" Levi asked through the door.
Mikasa mumbled something unrecognizable and buried her face in the pillow.
"Mikasa?" His voice became slightly irritated. "You need to get up."
"Ten more minutes", she mumbled through her pillow, not moving from her stop teaching again for the duvet.
She heated the click as the door opened and her cousins foot steps entering her room.
Levi sighed at the sight of his cousin cocooned in her bedding.
"Get up kas. You wanted my help now get up or you can move all your stuff yourself."
Mikasa poked her head up from the pillow and groaned. "Fine, I'll get up but on one condition?"
Levi raised and eyebrow as Mikasa sat up in bed and threw her legs over the side ready to get up. She looked at him and smiled. He knew what she wanted and made his way to the kitchen, clicking the kettle on as he gets there.
Mikasa quickly gets up and changes. She looks around her bedroom. At the sight of all her belongings packed up into boxes she sighs again. She would have much rather to live at home and just study at university but Levi insisted that she needed to 'get out there' and that she needed to stop hiding away from the world.
Mikasa makes her way through to the kitchen and takes her usual space at the table. Levi hands her her tea and sits at his usual spot. Levi would miss this. Their morning routine, their nights in but he knew it was for the best. He wanted Mikasa to get the most out of her new life. He remembered how difficult things were for her back then and wanted the best for her.
Mikasa notices her cousin staring into space and giggles before waving her hand in front of his face. "Levi? Hello? You in there?"
Levi snapped out of his thought and looked at Mikasa. "Yeah, sorry kas.. I was just thinking."
"About?" Mikasa asked.
"I..I'm gunna miss you. Before you say anything, I know it was my idea and I still stand by that. You need to get put there kas, make friends and be crazy, don't hide yourself away, but it's just well ill miss this. Us drinking tea in the mornings, our take away nights, you know, stupid stuff like that" Levi finished. He didn't want to seem too soft in front of his cousin.
Mikasa smiled at him. "I'm going to miss you too cuz, even though I'm still not keen on going I'll try my best. I mean I have Armin right so it can't be that bad?"
"Yeah, but you need more friends than just Artlet."
"Levi I said I would try okay?" Mikasa replied before finishing her tea and standing up and smiling at him. "So these boxes won't get in my car on their own now will they?"
Levi sighed as he finished his tea and got up. "You know what maybe I won't miss you" he replied, placing his cup in the sink and walking past Mikasa.
"Hey! Take that back!" She spoke as she followed after him.
