Remembering You

Mikasa ran back to her dorm. Tears in her eyes. What's happening to me? What was that? Once she got to her dorm, she quickly unlocked the door, ran inside and slammed the door shut behind her. She slumped onto the floor, dropping all her belongings.

She brought her knees close to her chest. Still trying to collect herself, she leaned her head against the door and closed her eyes.

"Jaeger. Did you just..kiss my cousin?" Levi questioned with an unreadable expression on his face.

Mikasa was still staring into space. She brought a hand up and placed it on the cheek Eren just kissed.

Armin looked surprised. He always knew that Mikasa had a thing for Eren, but never realised that he felt the same.

"Y-yes sir." Eren stuttered. He slowly removed his arms from round Mikasa and stepped back slightly. "Urm..I..I." Eren began but just preceded to stumble backwards.

Mikasa snapped out of her thoughts and wiped down her scarf before standing to get something to wipe the tea off herself. Levi and Armin looked at her with confusion in their faces before turning to face Eren again.

"Explain yourself now. Eren" Levi spoke with a stern tone to his voice. Levi really  didnt like the idea of the brat dating his cousin, he didnt trust him not to hurt her. Eren looked at his best friend before looking back to the Captain.

"Well, urm, you see.." He began.

"We've been dating for a while" Mikasa explained for him, now clearing the tea she spilt. "We didnt want to tell you cause we didn't know how you would react."

Armin felt kind of hurt. He knew that Mikasa had always felt about Eren strongly and had hoped that if anything had happened between the two of them that Mikasa would have told him.

"Wait a minute Mikasa" Armin began. "I've known you and Eren since we were children so why not tell me? You've told me everything else."

Mikasa hesitated. "Armin, I love you to pieces but the reason I didnt tell you was that..." Mikasa paused before sighing and staring again, "I didn't want you to tell me the right thing to do, and before you start you know what im talking about. I just wanted to follow what my heart told me and I know you and Levi would have said otherwise."

"Your damn right I would have said otherwise" He grabbed Mikasa by the arm and dragged her away slightly to speak to her. "He's just going to hurt you Kas, Iv'e seen the way you look at him but you deserve better. Plus this world, its cruel, fate isnt really on our side."

"I know Levi, but I just want to be happy. I mean who knows how long we've got in this world, even if its for a short time we deserve to be happy right? Yes the world may be cruel," Mikasa began before gazing over at Eren, "but its also very beautiful."

Levi sighed. He knew there was no way to change Mikasas mind. "If he hurts you i'll kill him." Levi spoke before walking away. Mikasa giggled at her cousin then looked back at Armin and smiled. Armin returned the smile. Mikasa would apologise to him later on but right now she was just thankful that they werent angry with her. She walked up towards Eren and pulled him into a hug.

"Smooth move Eren," she whispered in his ear.

Eren chuckled, before wrapping his arms around her waist and pulling her close. "Well they were going to find out one way or another so at least its done now right?" He questioned.

"Sure, not the way I was going to tell them but there we go." Mikasa pulled away from his embrace and placed a light kiss on his lips. She smiled at him before exiting the room quietly, leaving Eren to deal with Levi and Armin on his own.

"Mikasa?" A voice came from the otherside of the door. "Mikasa? It's me, just Armin. I'm on my own, can I come in?"

Mikasa wiped the tears from her eyes and stood up to open the door. She opened the door slowly and let Armin in. Once Armin was through the door way she engulfed him in a hug.

"Armin, whats happening to me?"
