It was a peacful, sunny day.
Or so I thought.
"Come on lazy-ass! Help me go shopping!"
Sabrina jumped up down my bed like a crazy kid who's high on sugar. I kicked her leg and she fell to the floor. Serves her right.
"Quincy! Get up already!"
I groaned loudly and hid under my duvet. I quicky looked at my phone and saw that it was only seven-thirty.
"There's a sale today Quins! Do you hear me?! A sale!"
With all her strength, she managed to yank the duvet covering my body and pulled me up so quick, I thought my arm would disconnect from my body.
"Why in the world do we have to go shopping this early?! And why are you screaming at me?!"
"You need to get ready! And you're screaming at me too!"
We went on for a few minutes until mom appeared in my bedroom door, obviously not pleased with the noise coming from us.
"What is going on here? People are trying to have a peaceful morning"
"Mom, why did you let Sab in?!"
"What do you mean, I let Sab in? She's got a key to our house remember? She practically lives here already"
"Ya darn right I do" Sab said, looking directly at me.
I groaned again. Not even bothering to fight with her. I wore my flip flops and headed downstairs to eat breakfast.
Sabrina followed slowly after and grabbed a plate of pancakes for herself. She also went to the fridge and got a glass of orange juice.
The nerve of this freeloader
"So.. after you eat, go take a shower and get ready so we can leave"
I glared at her sideways. "Who are you to boss me around?"
"Your bestest friend ever duh"
"Tell me again why you became my bestfriend"
She laughed, maybe because she remembered how we first met.
"You were so funny back then. Your underwear was blue with a star in the middle"
I slapped his head lightly and laughed too. We met at the park when we were around thirteen years old. I was going down the slide when she pushed me down so hard, my face went straight to the grass and showed my underwear because I was wearing a dress.
Weirdly enough, we became inseperable after that.
What's weirder though is why there were two thirteen-year-old kids playing in the slide and why in the world was I wearing a dress?
After we ate, I hopped in the shower and got out with my towel wrapped around my body. Sab had chosen my outfit to wear, as usual.
"Let's buy you new clothes okay?"
I turned to her after I brushed my hair.
"I thought I was just gonna help you out?"
"Meh, change of plans"
"I don't want new clothes"
"Okay, you don't want new clothes. You need new clothes"
"I don't need new ones Sab. My clothes are fine"
She rolled her eyes and lied down on my bed. "Yeah right. As if a bunch of shirts are fine"
ㅡ
"Does this color suit me?"
I looked at the sixteenth dress Sabrina has tried out and nodded my head, not really paying attention to her.
"Quincy"
"Yeah?" I said, without looking up from my phone.
"Ugh. You're the worst shopping buddy ever"
I shrugged. "Tell me something I don't know"
"It looks nice on you. Orange is your color"
We both looked at the person who said that. Guess who it was.
Garett, who else?
"Garett! Hey!"
Sabrina rushed over to him to give him.a hug. Okay? I knew they were close but I never knew they were that close. I don't know if I'm being dramatic but aren't there friendship levels that actually allows friends to hug?
You're just being dramatic
"Quincy?"
I looked up and saw them looking down at me. "Yeah?"
"This is Garett.."
I nodded, "Yeah. We've met"
"What? Really? When?"
She turned to Garett, eyes wide.
"Yesterday. She was with Finn before I met up with him"
She turned to me again, still with wide eyes
"You never even bothered to text me about this?!"
I raised both my hands up as if trying to defend myself, which I am actually.
"I didn't think it was a big deal"
"Uh, it so is! I can't believe two of my friends met already! And you were with Finn too!"
"He dropped by yesterday?"
"He knows your house?!"
I scrunched up my face. "You asked him to drop by and give back my notebooks!"
She stayed still for a bit and her mouth turned into an "O" shape
"Oh.. right! Totally forgot about that"
I rolled my eyes at that and Garett suddenly made a move and sat right next to me.
"Go and buy that dress already" Garett said to Sabrina, who was now smiling because she finally has a dress to buy.
She went inside the changing room again.
Bringing back my attention to my phone, I feel a weight on my right shoulder and I looked over and saw Garett's head resting on my shoulder blade.
"Just let me rest for a few minutes"
I was speechless by the sudden close proximity that I just managed to stutter out an 'okay'
Is it safe to say that I actually feel.. comfortable?
