i wished to see you every single day.
Jungkook didn't have many friends. He was not social. But he did have a few and them he considered as close as family. Anyone in their right mind knew that hurting any of Jungkook's friends meant signing themselves a death wish. Yet three boys thought it'd be fun to trip Hoseok when he was on his way to one of the study rooms in college.
"Jungkook," Hoseok ran behind the boy as he stomped down the stairs, anger bubbling up his chest every time he looked at the cast on Hoseok's hand. "Jungkook please. I'm okay."
Yoongi smiled and held Hoseok by his shoulders, preventing him from going after the younger boy who had clearly decided what he had to do. Unlike Hoseok, Yoongi liked the fact that those who had dared to hurt his boyfriend would now experience the wrath of Jeon Jungkook.
"Yoongi tell him not to beat them up please. Yoongi he-"
Yoongi shushed Hoseok with a light peck on his cheek. The latter gave in to the hold on him and melted into Yoongi's arms. If anyone came close to being as scary as Jungkook, it was Min Yoongi. He was small, sure, but that didn't stop him from being the captain of the basketball team. He was currently majoring in psychology, a subject that everyone deemed 'made for Yoongi'. The boy had the nicest smile in the world but hardly anyone outside his close knit group of friends had seen him smile. Rumours were that Min Yoongi had never smiled since childhood.
"He won't beat them up Hobi," Yoongi whispered. "I wouldn't let him. He's just going to intimidate them enough so they don't repeat this ever again, don't worry."
Yoongi and Jungkook were close, very close. Probably because both of them had so many similar traits, or probably because they both felt the need to stand up for their loved ones when they failed to do so. Hence Yoongi understood Jungkook on a spiritual level.
Jungkook found two out of the three boys near the canteen. A very light push to the chest and they already looked like they were about to piss their pants.
"You come near Hoseok hyung or any of my friends again," Jungkook spoke with gritted teeth, "and I'll show you what I can do."
Knowing that the two boys would convey this message to the third, Jungkook left the canteen, not bothering to turn around and watch as they fled the scene. He needed two large cups of coffee. He had had to pull an all-nighter the previous day in order to complete his art project. And lack of sleep made Jungkook irritated and drained. He walked into one of the cafes that lined up the street of Hongdae. The little bell at the door jingled when he walked in and the smell of coffee hit him like a truck. This café (Jungkook hadn't bothered to check the name) wasn't that crowded. It looked like every other café, with small portraits lining wooden walls, cozy tables and chairs placed in a rustic theme, a small newspaper and magazine rack at a corner...
And Jimin.
Jungkook blinked stupidly as he watched Jimin's mouth move. Jimin was standing right in front of him. Jimin was wearing an apron that adorned his small body so perfectly. Jimin... worked here?
"Um hello?" It took Jungkook a whole minute to realize Jimin had been talking to him.
"Hey," Jungkook finally replied when he returned to his senses. "Sorry I tuned out. I didn't know you worked here. Was caught a bit off-guard 'sall."
Jimin smiled and Jungkook wanted to die. "What can I get for you?"
"Two cups of the strongest drink you have here." Jungkook replied, pulling out money from his wallet and putting it on the table as the price for the drinks came up on the cash register. "Vanilla light roast? That's the strongest drink here?"
Jimin shook his head as he took the money and returned the change. "It's healthy. The vanilla will help calm you down and the light roast doesn't harm the body as much."
Jungkook stared at Jimin wordlessly. If only Jimin knew there were other things that harmed his body. "Will you make it?"
"Pardon?" Jimin furrowed his eyebrows. Jungkook thought he looked very cute.
"Will you make my drink for me? I want you to make it."
Jimin took in the boy in front of him. He was clad in tight black jeans ripped at the knees and a black Yankees jersey. He had bags under his eyes, probably didn't get enough sleep last night, Jimin induced. Jimin usually cleaned the mugs and cups and plates and took orders. He was working at the cash register today because one of the employees had called in sick. He had never made coffee here before. Yet he smiled and gave a nod to the boy waiting in front of him for an answer.
"Sure. I'll make it for you. Your name?"
"Jungkook. Jeon Jungkook."
Jimin liked the name. As he turned around to go into the kitchen, Jungkook took a seat, thinking about the name of the boy who was now making his drink. His nametag read Park Jimin.
Park Jimin.
His name was so beautiful too. Just like him.
When Jimin came back with his drink, waited for Jungkook to take a sip, and squealed in delight when the boy complimented it saying it was delicious; Jungkook found himself smiling. Park Jimin was adorable. He looked happy, very much unlike the day Jungkook had found him in the worst of scenarios sobbing his eyes out.
"I'll come here everyday," Jungkook muttered, causing Jimin to look at him in confusion. "I'll come everyday. To drink this amazing stuff you make, as well as to see you."
The pretty blush that painted Jimin's cheeks made everything he said worthwhile. Jungkook grinned as he watched Jimin bump into a stool on his way back to the cash register, glad to know his words had shaken him up to such an extent.
Whoever this Park Jimin was, Jungkook wanted to get to know him. He wanted the boy to be his friend. He wanted to know everything there was to know about him. And so he made a vow to himself. He would make time to come here everyday.
On his way out, Jungkook made sure to read the nameplate of the café.
Café Serendipity.
Jungkook smiled.
