Tea's POV
I took a deep breath of air, my heart was racing as I stood in front of the Uchiha house hold. The wind played with the ends of my yellow summer dress I was wearing. This is silly I thought. Its not too late to turn back, why should I even prove to Itachi's father I'm good enough for his son. I closed my eyes and took several calming breaths as I took one more step closer to the door. A puddle of water lingered near me from the down pour we had the night before, I looked into it and saw my reflection clearly my hair hung loosely around my face, my eyes were opened wide as I thought of all the bad things that might happen.
One more deep breath and I raised my hand to knock on the door. But to my surprise it opened before I got to it. I jumped back startled.
"How long do you intend to stand there" Itachi said as he smirked at me.
"H-how did you know I was here?" I stammered as the blush flooded my cheeks.
"It's kind of hard to ignore a girl who's having a panic attack in front of my house" he said starting to tease me.
Hmpth. "Ha ha very funny" I said letting the sarcasm coat my voice thick.
Itachi chuckled and walked up to me and wrapped his strong arms around me. "Your so cute when you pout" Itachi murmured in my ear.
"Let me go" my voice sounded muffled because my face was against his chest. He saw me struggling to get free so he let me free. "I'm not here to see you" I clearly stated, giving him a wink to show him I wasn't really angry.
Itachi gave me a puzzled look as he looked at my dressing attire trying to make sense of it. "Who are you here to see?" he said gaining his monotone voice back. I winced at his cold, unemotional voice.
"Your father"
He raised his eyebrow at me and suddenly swiftly turned around leading me into his house. "Wait here" Itachi ordered me. Itachi walked away and turned to go into his kitchen. His father must be in there. My heart started to pick up pace again, beating too loud that I thought everyone else must be able to hear it. It was a mistake to come here, especially in the morning...What was I thinking?
I heard a few parts of the small conversation. But it was just a word here and there, nothing that made any sense. I heard a grunt and then I heard Itachi's soft voice call me into the kitchen. I gulped and made my way through the familiar Uchiha hallways.
When I walked into the small kitchen, to my sudden surprise I was embraced into a tight hug by a young woman with black thick hair. This must be Itachi's mother I noted. "It's very nice to meet you finally, dear" the woman said so cheerfully.
I bowed respectfully. "Thank you for welcoming me into your house-" I paused not knowing the woman's name.
"Call me Mikoto" the cheerful woman said.
"Mikoto-sempai" I repeated, taking note of it. When I raised my head up my heart stopped dead as my eyes met Itachi's father steely glare. If looks could kill, I would be dead. I gasped quietly letting my head hang down averting his gaze now, staring at the wooden floor panels.
"Oh, come on don't be shy" Itachi's mom's comforting voice said oblivious to the tension in the room. I raised my head slowly careful not letting Itachi's father in my view. "What a sweet and beautiful girl" Mikoto started showering me with her comments. "Itachi why didn't you introduce us to her sooner" she said as she smacked her son's arm playfully. I let a smile trigger on my lips, letting myself forget about my main issue and who I should be pleasing.
"No, no please" I said trying to be modest. His mother smiled at me and combed my hair back.
"Such a wonderful girl, Itachi's lucky to have you" she said. I blushed, embarrassed by her compliments.
Suddenly I heard a crashing boom and the table beside us shook. I instinctively turned my head to see what it was. Itachi's father was standing up, his arms trembling with anger. "SHUT UP" he roared at his wife.
"Fugaku" Mikoto sempai whimpered surprised by her husband's actions probably because so far I was freaking out over here. I turned my head slightly toward Itachi, but he showed no emotion. This wasn't like him. I started to panic but kept a mask on.
"YOU!' Itachi's father yelled thrusting his finger in my direction. "This is all your fault!" he continued to shout at me. He walked up to me, only a few feet from me now. I felt the tears stinging in the corner of my eyes. Before I knew it he raised his hand up against me and I felt a stinging pain on my cheek. "Get away from my son, you whore!" he yelled now beyond furious.
"Fugaku!" his wife screamed, now sobbing.
"Mikoto" he whispered as if he was zapped out of his angry trance. He walked up to her side trying to stop her hysteria. "You don't understand, Itachi is capable to surpass anyone in this village, but she's just a distraction. I want the best for our son" he started to explain as he wrapped his arms around her waist. She tore away from him and ran out of the room.
I felt something wet on my face. My tears. They now flowed freely down my face. I took a quick glance at Itachi again. The same face. No emotion. I tore my gaze away and now I felt his heavy gaze on me.
This was it wasn't it.
It's all my fault.
