Slipping into depression feels like falling down a dark bottomless shaft, wondering if and when your fall will ever be caught. And as you look back to where you fell from--which is where you know you need to get back to--you can see it receding further into the distance, the proverbial light becoming dimmer and dimmer, while the shaft into which you are falling becomes deeper, darker, and all the more enveloping.Standing underneath a floor of glass, screaming and banging on it trying to get the attention of the rest of the world going about their lives without you. The problem is no-one can hear you you or even knows you're trapped there. But you know what's more frightening? That Sakura turned out to be psycho.

The basement was once a wine cellar. The most exclusive vintages of Europe were shelved in wooden racks, trusted to the natural refrigeration of the soil behind the dense stone walls. There are ancient brackets for candles every few feet, but it's been so long since they were used that there isn't even any wax residue on them. It smells musty but in the dim light provided by the single bare bulb that dangles from the ceiling I can't see any water seeping in. At five foot seven I'm hardly a giant but I must keep my head bowed as I walk around it. It's larger than it seems from the doorway, and there are some alcoves built in. It's the perfect place to store the medications with it's moderated temperatures and lack of sunlight. Even in our frequent black-outs we won't loose the stock.

(Y/N) gazed his eyes around the place to find faith.

You knew that there was no plan, your mind was blank that you couldn't think of an escaped. Your already fallin' in depression. The feeling is strange; too familiar yet too strange. I never know how to define it. I want to smile, laugh along with everyone but something in me grabs my heart tight, crushes it to pieces. The brightness inside of me is gulped by something dark. No, I would be wrong to say it is dark - it is empty, nothing else.

You heard the steps of devil, Sakura, heading down to greet you with her fresh home made food.

"Good morning sweetie~! I hope you like this time, I made it with my love, and please eat it. It saddens me when you don't even dare to look at it." She sat front of me, and poured me glass of orange juice.

"Where are they?" I didn't dared to look at her.

"Who? I'm the only one you need babe~" She grins widely showing her white teeth.

"Dad, and stepmom. I don't need you..." My voice soften in the last sentence.

"Oh, I killed them." She got her silver spoon, and forced me to eat.

Memories starting to kick in. My parents smile from the old photographs, full of the promise of youth. Mother stands in her wedding dress, modest by today's standards, simple and white. Father is the proud man holding the arm of his pretty dame, the sunlight reflecting from his unwrinkled face. That was before... before the battles to keep the roof over our heads and food on the table. It was before his arthritis and her heart disorder surfaced. I want to see them smile like that again, to find those spirits hiding inside their aching bones. I wish they were alive, mom died from heart attack, and after years dad married this woman who gave birth to this devil.

Who do I call when there's no one? I have to escape but how..?

"School..." I whispered.

"Huh, right! I told everyone that both of us are dead. A car accident with our parent's. You know no need school." She said with smile.

She gripped my chin to face her.

She flashed a smile, it look immature, but she's a devil in disguise. Her silky blonde hair, her glittery pink eyes that held sparkly joy, and a smile that I was dying to see. She looked cute, but now I regret everything.

"You okay?" She frowned, and her smile faded.

"Why don't we hang out?" I questioned her.

"Do you want to die?" Her voice sounded satanic, she gripped my arm aggressively, her eye's darkened.

"N-no! I mean to know each other plus the atmosphere isn't pleasing..." I trembled in my place.

"Alright! Look at you honey! So cuuute~! I'm going to make you something to eat." She released her grip on me, her goggly eye's sparkled, and she stood up.

Before she was heading she stoped walking, and spoke, "I'll think about it." After that she left.

I sighed in relief.

I might wait, but I must plan on something. I can't just show up at school, and shout 'i'm alive', but what about police? Man, I don't know what to do. I can't even man up right now. Elva, if I showed up at school she'll kill everyone. I knew Elva, she had a massive crush on me, even tho I wasn't interested in relationship, but I wonder how dad met stepmom?

As I'm laying on cold floor, I was flooded with darkness.Darkness is a strange substance, like ice it has three states solid, liquid, and gas, but with a twist. Since it is a sort of mystical material, it doesn't fall under the laws of science, only able to change states by the user. In solid form its almost completely black aside from a very tiny shade of red at its centre, like a candle in the dark, when a non-user touches it its like getting winded, if hit by a sharp point it will penetrate and quickly infect. As a liquid its thick; sticky, and has a pungent smell of ink, it can act like quicksand or just plain coat and suffocate people. As a gas its quite strange it is able to pass through solid material with ease, suffocate, and eat away like acid. As a whole Darkness is an odd thing.

But now I most find the light.

This is war.
