We step into the bar and I immediately regret my decision. The bar is dimly lit with lights behind the counter. It smells like alcohol and cigarette and it has barely been open for five minutes. The music is blasting what sounds like Brittney Spears. I recognize one of my coworkers, Danny, as the bartender and consider saying hi but decided against it after I get a pull on my sleeve. I turn and face Bella

"I'm going to get a drink. You want anything?" she yells over Brittney.

"Water," I say and Bella gives me a glare, so I glare back. She leaves and I settle myself into a booth. I pull out my phone to see if I got any texts from Sam or ,Mom saying how big of a jerk I am. So far I didn't get any.

"Hey Alex!" says a familiar voice in front of me. I look up and see my boss, Cara.

"Hey Cara. How's business?" I ask.

"It's good so far. Can I ask you a favor?"

"Sure."

"Danny's having a hard time getting everyone's order. I know it's your off day, but I would really appreciate it if you could help him out a little until rush hour is over." The thing is, rush hour last all night on Fridays. I don't really want to be here though so I might as well help out at Brundle's.

Before I could respond, someone from behind Cara says,"I'm sorry but Alex has had a very emotional day and promised he would have fun tonight."Bella stood behind Cara holding a glass with olives on an toothpick and a bottle of water."So no, he can't help you on his off day. Danny should know how to handle rush hours; he has been working for three months now. So if you excuse us," she grabs my arm and pulls me out of the booth to where we stand face-to-face with Cara,"we have a song to dance to." She whips her hair at Cara and walks away, dragging me behind her. I am still looking at Cara when I bumped into a human's chest.

"Sorry," I say politely at the stranger without actually looking at their face.

"Alex?" says the stranger. He sounds familiar. I turn my attention away from Cara and look at who I ran into; it was Sky.
