"YOU GOT HIS NUMBER?!"Bella exclaims. It's been three days since I bumped into Sky at the bar. Since I got his number, we have been texting nonstop, mostly about our likes and dislikes and what we were doing.
"Shh.. yeah and?"
"What do you mean 'yeah and'! He totally likes you!"
As Bella said this, Sky walked into the Sturbucks. He wears his hair down and a proud smile. It's my turn to be cashier so I walk behind the cash register.
"Hey Sky! What can I get for you?" I say kindly.
"Hey Alex! I'll take a chocolate chip muffin, a coffee, and a smile." he says with a mischievous grin. I smile and his eyes go wild.
"Okay. That would be $3.35." He hands me a five. I put it into the register and hand it to him.
"Keep the change." He walks over to a seat and waits for his coffee.
Bella sneaks behind me and whispers,"Dang I realy hopes he asks you out soon."
"I don't think he will. We are just friends."
"You're not worried if he's..." I glace at Bella.
"I'll prove it to you." She quickly makes Sky's order and steps out from behind the counter to deliver it.
Once she reaches him, he begins to say,"Thanks Be...."
"YOU STRAIGHT?!"
Sky blushes and looks around at all the people staring. "Bella, why would you..."
"ANSWER THE DAMN QUESTION!"
He looks at his feet and answers,"No."
"Thank you," says Bella as she turns around and heads right for me. "You better go talk to him."
Sky walks out of Sturbucks with his head down. I bolt after him.
"Hey wait! I'm sorry about Bella! She was being really... unnecessary."
Sky sighs. "I figured you would find out eventually."
"Well I mean is not like it's going to be awkward with us right."
"What do you mean?"
"I thought you figured it out."
"Figured what out?"
"That I'm.." Bella burst through the door.
"Can't you just ask him out already?" she says and goes back into the coffee shop.
"OHHHH!"
"Yeah."
"That'll make this easier."
"Make what easier?"
He blushes so much he looks like he isn't breathing. "I was going to ask you if we could hang out on Friday."
"Oh."
"Yeah."
"I'm sorry, but I have work on Friday."
"Oh."
There is a killer silence between us.
"I don't have work on Saturday though."
His face lights up like a child in a candy store. "Deal. I'll pick you up on Saturday at 7."
I send him my address and we go our separate ways. There is a little skip in Sky's steps, and it makes me laugh as I walk into Sturbucks.
