Chapter 5

Claire's POV

*Next day*

After school i have to take Frodo out for a walk again.

I don't walk as far up to Calum's house.

Honestly, i am being selfish for rejecting someone so that i can have a nice year.

But then another part of me is helping them. If they are seen with me then what will happen to their reputation? I'd just be some random chick they start talking to.

There isn't a point in starting something that will end in a years time.

I met Calum like a couple days ago. And I have no worries on Luke. He cares to much about his rep and popularity.

I dont know why i am putting this into so much thought. I am going way ahead of myself. I probably sound pathetic.

All this will be done by tomorrow. Guaranteed.

I walk back to my house and here someone yell my name. Could it be..?

I ignore it and keep walking.

"Cuhhh-laire!!" he yells again.

I turn around and accidentally bump into him.

"Sorry" i say quietly.

He clears his throat. "I'm gonna get straight to the point" he says.

"I know you don't like the attention or spotlight and you just want to live your life quietly but i can protect you from the stupid rumours and bitches creating them. I know we have only known eachother for a couple of days but i want to get to know you. You're the first person i've been comfortable with for along time and i'm not letting a person like that go again"

He lets out a long breathe.

I look down at my feet. I kick a couple pebbles. "I dont even know if i can trust you.." i say quietly.

I look back up at him and now he's looking at the ground. Disapointment in his eyes.

He nods. "I wouldn't if i were you. But you can trust me"

"I'll think about it" I turn to walk away.

I lay in bed and think about what he said.

This could be like in the movies where they play a game on the girl. Or in the book After when a guy sweet talks the most innocent girl and then plays the worst bet on her.

I've done enough thinking about this.

I'm not taking his offer.

I grab my phone off my bed side table.

I call Bri.

"Hello?"

"Hey wanna come over?" i ask.

"Yeah ill be over in about five minutes"

"There's nothing good on TV" i whine and hit the power off button.

"Lets talk about boys" Bri says and turns to face me on the couch.

"Sure. Hows Harry?" i ask her avoiding what i know she was going to ask.

"Noooo not my boy. Your boys" she says and wiggles her eyebrows.

"Can we not" i say.

She makes this baby noise and shakes my arm. "Talkkkk"

"There's nothing to talk about" i say and use my index finger to push her back by the forehead.

"I heard you punched Luke" she makes an 'o' with her mouth.

"Indeed"

She takes out her phone. "Look"

She puts her phone like an inch away from my face. I grab her wrist to push it back a little farther. My eyes widen.

"Where did you get this picture?" i asked.

"Elle posted it on twitter and now everyone is talking about it" she said.

Elle is the most popular girl in our entire school, why would she post a picture of me and Calum hugging?

"Why would she- how did-" i have no words.

Everything i've been avoiding has finally fired up and now the whole school will be talking.

"Rumours spread like fire darling" Bri said and pat my head.

'What am i going to do? Right. There is nothing i can do.

I have only been in school for like a week and i already have shit going around the school.

Calum's POV

"What's this" asks Ashton and throws his phone at me.

I pick it up and find a picture posted by Elle of me and Claire.

Shit.

I'm sure Claire has already seen this. She is going to be pissed.

Luke walks into my living room from the kitchen with a bottled water in his hand. "What?" he asks. "Lemme see that"

Shit.

He snatches Ashton's phone out of my hand. He furrows his eyebrows. "What the fuck?"

"She your girl?" Ashton asks.

I look up at Luke. He's still staring at the picture. "No. Just some whore" i say regretting it afterwards.

Luke shoots me a glare.

He doesn't say anything about what i said about Claire for the rest of the night.

Sorry this chapter is so shitty! I'm on my friends computer and it is hard to concentrate for some reason. I had everything in my head for this chapter last night :'(
