The Dreams I Never Dreamt

When the world is fast asleep
My mind begins to wake
Dreams dreamt in the daytime
Are now no longer fake

The dreams I'd wish to live
Just never seem too real
The dreams I'd wish to never see
Are the only ones I feel

My mind is my own enemy
Even when I'm just asleep
It gives me hope, and certainty
But those aren't for me to keep

My thoughts become unbearable
When my pillow is near my head
Sometimes I wake up so unsure
If I'm alive, or if I'm dead

Yes my dreams I dream in daytime
Are not for me to keep
They are for my own sanity
Even though they make me weep.
