"Ok, if you say so." I said when Blade told us the story of how Storm got away. "He...he should be fine right? Like in his room?" Alice said with a slight worried expression on her face.
Blade and I looked at each other. "He should be?" "I'll go lock his door and window if that will be more safe for John." I said. "That would work, but just make sure they stay locked and that Storm can't pick at them." Blade said walking down a hallway. "I'm going to bed, it's pretty late. Alice why don't you help River locking Storm's window and door."
"O-ok." Alice said a little anxious. "You alright Alice? You can lock the door and I can lock the window if you want. I know you have a slight fear of heights." "Y-you do? How?" "Um...that's not the point. C'mon we have to hurry." Alice gulped and followed me towards one of the dark hallways.
I opened a door and found a bunch of climbing equipment. A grabbed two ropes and a grappling hook. "Alice go to Storm's room and lock it and make sure Storm can't figure out how to unlock it." "Yes River." "I'll be back, once your done locking the door you can come outside and try to spot me. You don't have to climb up but you can watch me Incase I fall or something."
"Ok." "Let's go" I went out of the room, shut the door and went speed walking down the hallway with Alice close behind. I sent Alice down the Hall towards Storm's room and I went outside. "Hmm...how will I find his room? I should've had Alice mark his room. I think Storm's room is on the east side and there might be something on his windowsill." I walked to the east side and started to look at the windows. I saw a flashlight's light through one of them and thought instantly of Alice locking Storm's door.
I ran to the wall and aimed at the windowsill with the grappling hook. The hook hung right on the ledge. I tugged on the grappling hook and climbed up. I stood on the windowsill looking into his room. I could still see Alice flashlight's light under the door now.
I pulled out a lock and latched it on the window. I pulled on the lock to make sure it stayed in place. When I went to climb down my foot slipped. I clung to wall, my fingers looking for a ledge to grab onto. My feet did the same.
Once my fingers and feet found places to lock onto I began to climb down. I could hear footsteps from around me. I turned my head and looked down and around to see if I could spot the person. I saw a tall figure running from the building. I saw a glint of light at their waist and a cloak flowing down from their shoulders.
I squinted my eyes to try to get a better look at them but ended up slipping again. I let out a small cry and tried to find my footing again. My hands let go of the wall and rope. I fell from the wall and went hurtling down towards the ground.
Instead of getting a face full of dirt, I felt slick black leather under me. I looked up and saw the tall black figure holding me. Realizing that the tall figure caught me I quickly pulled away from them. "Hey, I just saved you. I think a deserve a thank you?" "I didn't ask to be saved. You did that on your own. I could've taken the fall, I wouldn't have died." "Maybe, but you would've been very hurt." "Hmph." I started to walk away quickly. The figure grabbed my arm.
"Hey, don't fall off of any more buildings." "You don't have the right to tell me what to do." I pulled my arm out of his grasp and went to the front door. "W-Wait!" I stopped. "Now what?" "What were you doing on the side of a building?" "That is none of your business." "Were you trying to break in?" "I live here." "Oh." "May I leave now?" "I guess so Riv." I turned around and fully faced the dark figure.
"I remember you. Your the man who stopped me from following you. Who are you?" "I have already told you. I'm no one important." "You sound like a friend of mine Mr. No one important." "Mhm, who is this 'friend' of yours?" "No one you need to know about and they are not important to you." "Alright then, I guess I should be going then."
I grabbed their arm. "Not until you tell me your name. If not your name then at least the first letter." He was quiet for a minute and thought. "Alright Riv sure I'll give you a hint. My name, my real name starts with the letter F." "F? I don't know anyone or remember anyone with a name that starts with an F." He smiled, pulled his hood more over his face and turned around.
He disappeared quickly into the night. I could barely make out the outline of his body while he ran. He ran faster and faster and then I couldn't see the outline of his body anymore. 'Who the hell is this guy? How does he know my name? I don't remember meeting anyone with a name that starts with an F. Maybe One of the others might know.' I turned around and walked to the front doors.
I opened one as quiet as I could and went to my room. I heard more footsteps. I turned and saw Alice standing there. "Holy shit Alice, I thought you were someone else." "Sorry, I saw you fall. And saw someone catch you."
"Yes someone caught me. I don't know who they are." "Did you ask for a name? Did you ask anything?" "I asked for his name. He said it started with an F." "Why did he catch you River?" "I don't really know. I just slipped and remember being held by someone." "Let's go to bed, we will find out who this person is sooner or later."
