Chapter 3 - Poison

I sat up, stretching and then cracking my knuckles. I turned my head when the bacon smell drifted to my nose. I took a deep inhale and stood up,"I never knew dad cooks that good..." I scratched my head and opened the door to the kitchen, Sarah stood there over the stove making  scrambled eggs. She quickly turned and smiled,"Hey! I made some bacon too, its right over there." She pointed at a plate full of bacon. "Thanks.." I looked at Sarah again, her brown hair pulled in a small ponytail, her green eyes completely focused in the eggs, she wore a white shirt and blue denim jeans.

Once she finished the eggs we ate breakfast, I got ready for school and me and Sarah set off, waving good bye to my dad while smiling as well.

We walked, about two blocks from school, when Jessica showed up. Sarah quickly grabbed my arm tightly. Jessica frowned,"Whoa, I heard what happened yesterday.. I'm really surprised that you healed THAT fast." I looked at Jessica, her face filled with disgust,"Okay, calm down Jess." I said, attempting to actually calm her down. She turned to me and frowned, then stormed off. Sarah turned to me and smiled,"I'm fine. I already know you were going to ask..." She continued to smile up at me when tears rushed down her cheeks. "S-sarah!? Why are you crying!?" She continued to sob, quietly now, for a little while. She stood up and wiped her red eyes,"Everyone hates me... just like my father..." She grabbed her bag and ran to the school.

I sat down, glanced at Sarah and then turned back. I sat my head down on my desk, someone poking my head "Wake up mister!" I groaned and put my head up ,"Yes?". Mr. Shulken gave me a yellow paper ,"You need to go to the Nurses Office, she wants to talk to you." Bowe gasped,"WHAAAT!?" After that there were a lot of sad looks from the guys. Every dude found the nurse super attractive, not me. Well, I used to until she said she had a crush on my dad, yuck.

I walked to the nurses office, Ms. Lynn greeted me,"Hey Corben!" She motioned for me to follow and walked into her office. I arrived, at least ten boys were sitting down groaning,"Oh. Ow." She shooed them all out and smiled at me, which faded quickly,"Corben.. What do you know about Sarah's erm... beat up yesterday..." I shrugged,"Someone got her eye pretty bad. But she woke up just fine." Ms. Lynn raised an eyebrow,"Woke up....?" I stood up,"NO not like that. She just came to my house after I invited her over." She giggled,"Okay. okay. Sit down." I sighed and sat back down. "Think you know who did it?" I tapped my chin,"Jessica." She nodded and wrote down her name. "One more question Corben.." I nodded,"Yeah?". Smiling she replied,"When is your dad free tonight?" I groaned,"All night.." She clapped her hands and smiled,"Yes!"

At lunch I sat down by Sarah, Bowe sliding next to me "Man! Your super lucky to see the nurse! She's way hot." I shook my head,"No she isn't.." Bowe punched my shoulder,"C'mon.. Admit it!" I stared at him, he stared back smirking. "Dude. Your blushing." I covered my face,"No." He laughed,"Yes! In front of your girlfriend too." I moved my hands,"She's not my girlfriend." She got up,"I forgot my phone!" and took off running. Bowe smirked,"Just imagine her!" I coughed,"No." Ms. Lynn had waist length caramel hair, which was always pulled into a bun. She had perfect features, pretty brown eyes. Her laugh was adorable. "See! Now you got me imagining her.." He winked,"Yup!" And started drinking his milk, I groaned,"She has a date tonight with my dad." He spit out his milk in my face, everyone turning while holding back laughs. I groaned and stood up,"Thanks." And stepped forward, slipping and out I went.

I awoke in Ms. Lynn's office, Bowe, Sarah, and Jessica standing over me. I smiled,"Hey guys.." Jess jumped up,"He's awake!!" Ms. Lynn hurried over ,"Oh yay!" She put an ice pack on my head, then hurried back to her office. Sarah sighed in relief and sat down, Jess following. "Bowe, I know your only here for Ms. Lynn." He shook his head and smiled,"I'd rather come see my best friend other than some great -" He turned to Ms. Lynn, tapped her foot behind him."S-some great grapes! A-and medical supplies mhm." I laughed, Ms. Lynn raising an eyebrow and walking off. I hugged Bowe and sat up,"C'mon Sarah I'll walk you home." Bowe jumped forward "But last period is almost over!" The bell rang,"Oh." He smiled embarrassed.

Me and Sarah walked to the front of the school,"Okay, Sarah, where do you live?" She scoot kinda closer to me "Can I stay with you.. Just for this week?" I was a bit shocked "W-what about your parents?" She shrugged,"They don't really like me." I sighed and nodded,"Sure. You can stay."

We arrived at my house, unlocking the door with my key, I opened it,"Dad I'm h-" I gasped at Ms. Lynn making out with my dad. "Ack!" I covered Sarah's eyes,"Hey! Get a room!" They both looked at us,"Oops.." Ms. Lynn giggled and jumped up,"Awe, you brought Sarah again?" I nodded, my cheeks began burning red. "How cute!!" She grabbed my dad's hand ,"Thank goodness it's Friday!" They ran upstairs yelling and hooting, then silenced from their kissing.

I laughed and smiled,"You tired? hungry? bored?" She shook her head "No.. Just a bit tired. And I stink. " I pointed to a white door,"There's the bathroom if you wanna shower." She smiled and walked to the bathroom.

After a little bit there was a knock at my romlom door, I opened it, Sarah came in with her towel "I need some clothes." She giggled and and then smiled. I walked to my closet and got out a black shirt and my grey p.e shorts. I handed them to her and she smiled,"Thanks." She walked back to the bathroom.

She came back,"I found some girls underwear in the Laundry!" I looked at her,"No girls live here..." Our eyes widened and looked upstairs ,"Oh my god.." I stared upstairs "How many damn times has she been here....?" She shrugged and laughed,"Hmph. No wonder why its too big for me." She walked out of my room. "Woah wait! What's too big?" I ran out after her.

We watched a few cartoons together, Sarah soon falling asleep. I yawned and laid down and fell asleep.

I woke up, her nose was touching my nose. My cheeks burned red again,"W-what..." Her eyes fluttered open, the poison green seemed to seep out. We stared eye to eye, no bad flashbacks this time. She blushed and started screaming. I sat up,"Woah! What's wrong!?" She closed her eyes,"I'm sorry! I'm sorry!" She sat up as well,"I'm just replaying his life over again..." I looked at her "Who's L-" Ms. Lynn slowly creeped down the stairs, wearing a robe,"Oh, hey you two!" She smiled,"You two are adorable! See you at school!" She opened the door and left.

I turned back to Sarah, tears now streaming down her cheeks,"I guess I'll go.." I grabbed her and smashed my lips on hers. She blushed once again and pulled away,"No.. This... I thought you were with Jessica..." I looked,"Huh.. I have no feelings for her." She looked at me in the eyes,"But she said... " I frowned,"Did she threaten you again?" She looked down,"She was going to scar me for life... she said."
