UNEDITED
As I walked through the crowded hallway towards the attendance office, I saw this group of boys all staring at me.
They really stood out because they were all wearing the same football jerseys, but with different numbers. One stuck out to me the most though.
He was gorgeous. Tall, smiling, and just plain handsome. I just kept staring at him. I couldn't stop. I had never really seen a guy that was around my age before that wasn't part of my family. Like my cousins.
I didn't realize until it was too late that he was walking over to me. 'Oh shit.' I thought to myself as he got closer.
"Take a picture, it will last longer, gorgeous." he said as he looked down at me. 'Cocky Bastard,' I thought.
I wasn't exactly tall, and he was at least over 6 feet tall. I was only just over five feet. He towered over me.
"Oh! Um... Hi. Sorry. I'm just getting used to my surroundings." I stuttered, looking at my feet, still holding my bike helmet by my side.
I heard him chuckle. I was so awkward around boys! Ugh! Thanks, Dad!
"You look new." He said. 'Is it that obvious?!' I thought as he continued, "Can I help you find anything?"
"That would be great, thanks!" I said, trying not to stutter and looking up into his blue eyes.
He started to walk and I followed him down the large crowded hallways.
"So, what's your name?" He said as we walked beside each other.
"Malia. Malia Gonzalez." I said proudly. Everyone in my family is very proud of our heritage and surname. My Dad is Cuban, and my Mom was Venezuelan. So we never let anyone disrespect our surname. You don't mess with Latinas!
"I'm Brandon Woods." He said, grinning from ear to ear.
'I might actually faint,' I thought to myself. His smile could bring any girl to their knees.
This really was going to be a long day!
----------
As we got to the attendance office, I said goodbye and thank you to Brandon and he gave me a 'you're welcome' back. After that, he was walking back down the hallway the way we came.
I walked up to the desk at the front and told the lady my name and she handed me my locker combination and schedule and she sent me on my way.
After a little while of walking, I found my locker and put my bike helmet in my locker once I found it and headed to my first class.
And who do I see in the front?
Brandon. Freaking. Woods.
This class is going to be long and distracting.
