UNEDITED
The end of the school day rolls around as I say a goodbye to Bridget, Henry, Daniel, and Charlotte. I actually made friends and we're now in a group chat together!
As I'm watching out to my bike, with my helmet under my right arm, Brandon is standing nearby leaning on his Range Rover. 'Of course he's some rich boy.' I roll my eyes internally, walking up to my bike and hopping on. I start to put my helmet on as Brandon walks over to me, smirking again. This boy likes to smirk, doesn't he?!
"So... You're a bike girl." He says, looking at my sport bike. I nod, putting the key in and turning it on as I finish buckling my helmet strap.
"Yup." I quickly say, backing it up and riding off. 'Had to get away from that jerk! Ugh!' I think to myself, driving back to the apartment building.

I finally am walking up to the penthouse, unlocking the door with my key and walking inside. As I walk into the kitchen, which overlooks the living area, I notice my Father and some of the higher men in the gang conversing around the coffee table.
My Father looks over, nodding towards me and motioning me over. "Hey, kiddo. How was your first day?" He says, keeping a cold exterior to his behavior.
I walk over, shrugging. "Fine. Meeting?" He nods as the 4 men sitting next to my Father start talking about plans to rob some bank an hour away or something. I shake my head, walking up to my room and closing the door. I collapse onto my bed, dropping my backpack onto the floor.
Sometimes it's nice to have a lot of money, but sometimes I wish my Dad didn't do this line of work. Some nights, I don't know if he's coming back or if I'm going to be sent off to some foster home or wherever they send 17 year olds.
I start to sit up as my phone goes off.
...: Text Messages :...
Bridget: Hey guys! Wanna do something today? Like go to central park or something?
Daniel: Sure! I'm up for that.
Charlotte: Sounds good to me.
Henry: When? I'll go.
Bridget: 4:00?
* Daniel, Charlotte, and Henry Liked Bridget's Message *
Bridget: Malia? You in?
I quickly answer: Sure! I'm in. I'll be there.
Bridget: Kk! See you guys in 20 minutes.
...: End Conversation :...
I set my phone down, grabbing a small bag and my Alfa Romeo keys. Might as well drive instead of ride.
I walk downstairs, seeing my Dad still meeting. I quickly wave him a goodbye and he stands up, walking over.
"Where are you going?" He says, concern in his face. "I met some friends, we're gonna hang out at central park. Maybe go to the zoo or something." I say.
He nods, taking a breath of relief. "Be back by 9." He says as I roll my eyes. "Yeah yeah." I say, walking out the door and down to the parking garage. I walk to the spot next to my bike, seeing my black 2020 Alfa Romeo Giulia Quadrifoglio.
I unlock it, hopping in and starting it up. I quickly drive out of the parking garage and towards central park. Hopefully traffic won't be too bad.
...: Time Skip :...
I pull into a parking spot near the part of the park where Bridget said we were going to meet, hopping out of my car and grabbing my purse from the passenger seat. I press the lock button on my keys.
I start walking over to a bench where I see Henry sitting. I wave as he stands up, smiling at me.
"Hey, Lia." He says, I raise an eyebrow at the nickname. "I hope it's okay if I call you that. I think it's a cute nickname." I nod, shrugging.
"Yeah, it's cute. I don't mind." I say as he sits back on the bench. I sit down next to him as Daniel, Charlotte, and Bridget all walk up.
"Hey guys!" Bridget says as the others wave at Henry and I. We wave back as we both stand up.
We spend the rest of the day walking around the park and talking and laughing. Towards the end of us hanging out, my Father texts me saying he'll be out late and probably won't be back until tomorrow morning or afternoon. I sigh, texting him an 'Okay'. I really hate when he goes off and doesn't tell me where he's going. I mean, I get that he can't tell me over text, but he could call me or tell me before I leave the apartment.
Bridget notices my changed demeanor. "You okay, Lia?" She says, touching my right arm. I nod, putting my phone away.
"Y-Yeah... My Dad's just going on a business trip. A sudden one." I say, lying through my teeth. I could never tell them what I'm really involved in. They would probably never talk to me again or something.
Bridget shakes her head, shrugging. She can tell I'm lying.
We all walk back to our original meeting spot and say goodbye. I walk over to my car, unlocking the doors and hopping in. I drive back to my apartment.
As I get in, I see a note on the counter. 'Get some pizza. Use your credit card. Love you! - Dad'
I set the note down, getting on my phone and ordering from postmates. I just got some vegetarian tacos from Chipotle.
As soon as my food arrives, I quickly eat it, heading to bed and getting ready. Today really has been a day.
...: Time Skip to the next morning :...
I wake up to my 6 am alarm, slowly getting up and going into the bathroom to get ready.
After taking a quick shower and doing some light mascara and lip gloss, I put on my outfit for the day.
I grab my keys to my car as I notice it's raining outside. I also grab my backpack and a raincoat, walking down to my car and driving to school.
Hopefully today will be less... Eventful.
