An out of breath Jay entered the room, leaning heavily against the doorframe. Although, why would he be so exhausted? He's been training the same as everyone else has.
And why are his feet all the way up to his knees blue?
I glanced back down at my parchment note, worried, and then noticed that Jay had one in his hand too. The room was still silent as Jay caught his breath, all you could hear were the occasional beeps of some monitors or controls.
Jay finally regained his breath and tried to regain his composure as well, but I could tell that he was really upset about something. Probably the note from Chen.
"So... you guys got it too?" Jay questioned, already knowing the answer, as we all held up our notes so he could see clearly.
"Yeah, we got it all right..." Cole sighed.
"But each of our's differs... They all combine to create a bigger picture." Zane stated, curious to see what kind of message Chen put on Jay's note.
After laying out all six notes on the table in the control room, we re-read each note looking for differences. Jay's note seemed to be the most basic and normal note out of all our notes. I still couldn't believe that mine talked about my father! Dad was still alive... I couldn't wrap my brain around it. I decided not to tell the others, yet, they can read it for themselves.
Nya's and Zane's talked about Chen's delight in having new elemental masters joining his game officially. I guess what he means by that is now the powers of Ice and Water will officially be participating this time, and maybe there are new people out there with other elemental powers we've never heard about...
I turned back into what the others were saying and looking at after I was done zoning out about other elemental masters and my dad. They seemed to just have finished talking about Kai's note which said:
"Your love, Skylor, will be there too. Don't think that just because I invited her, I'll be easy on her. The more romantic or friendly interactions you have with her will be increased punishment against her. So don't try anything! Or else... she will suffer the consequences."
I looked around at the others to see their spooked faces. I reached over and gave an sympathetic pat on Kai's back, just for moral support. I really felt for the guy. First, because he's my best friend. And second, I know what it feels like to have your loved ones' lives threatened.
There was a low murmur of Nya's reassuring words to Kai as she too reached over and pulled Kai into a hug. We then looked over Cole's note and there didn't seem to be any discrepancies and matched up to look like Jay's.
When we all finished taking looks at each others notes, I finally felt like I needed to say something.
"So.... What now?" I asked. They stood there, deep in thought. The whole room was silent. It had gone on long enough for Kai, apparently, because he was the first to break the silence.
"Guys get ready, we'll need to teach one more lesson to Chen." Kai said, while heading to the door.
"Wait, what!?" Cole exclaimed, Kai stopped and turned back. He seemed a bit mad. I felt his burning hands even where I was sitting.
"We can't jump in a decision like this, what if Chen meant he will try to take our powers again when he mentioned the surprise?" Cole said pretending he was serious.
"And this time Nya and Zane will be with us! I don't want them to get hurt!" Jay put in quickly.
"I can handle myself thank you very much!" Nya shot back. She was really defensive when it came to Jay's slight overprotectiveness. I think it's because of she just joined our team officially and wants a place to show what she can do. For her, right now, it's holding on her her new identity and being able to make a name for herself by herself.
"But guys what about my dad?" I said. "Didn't we talk about 'A ninja never leaves a brother behind'?" I made eye contact with each and every one of them taking my time until I had gazed over all of them. I inhaled deeply, trying not to cry.
"He is our master and my father...." I continued, my voice cracking a little. "I don't know how hard or painful this is going to be, but I'm sure we will never stop. We will fight on...
Because A Ninja Never Quits!" I told them and stood up.
"Now, who's with me?"
Third Chapter won't come really fast but I promise I'll update ASAP.
