The Nightmare 1

Part 6

Luna's POV:

I watched the entire traumatic scene, it horrified me, but I had seen way more gruesome stuff. In fact, the most horrifying thing I've seen happened right after this... As I watched my friends suffering I heard something behind me, I knew it was another darn Demi-Dog, but I knew it wasn't just a single one, I then slowly turned around and I saw a Demi-Dog run towards Chris. I tried to stop it but I was just shoved into the grass. All of us then saw the Demi-Dog attack Chris as he tried to run. I saw the terrifying creature sink its razor-sharp teeth into Chris's torso, and his intestines were being ripped out and devoured in less than 10 seconds, blood gushed from Chris's intestines, then the Demi-Dog ran away. I then looked over at the others; Kayla and Luke and Jeremiah. Kayla stood there, with tears rolling down her face, as she ran over to Chris's corpse and shouted, "CHRIS! NO!" she fell to her knees and cried.

Kayla's POV:

As I saw Chris's body being ripped to shreds I shouted and cried in sadness and anger, at one point I nearly refused to continue the journey, but Luke just said in the kindest way, "I know this sucks..but we have to keep going" I agreed, and we continued through the forest.

Luke's POV:

I felt terrible for Kayla, but I knew we all had to keep going, even though Kayla agreed to continue, she kept crying, when she stood up, I pulled her into a hug. As I hugged her, I whispered, "I am so sorry Kayla, I am still here with you, I will be your best friend, I mean.. I know that I can't totally replace Chris, but I can still be there for you." Kayla then stopped crying and then said through tears, "Thank you, Luke". When Kayla stepped out of my hug, I then saw Jeremiah still laying on the ground, I then ran over to him, I could see him still breathing but he looked very weak, I then saw him sit up weakly, and he asked, "Luke! A..are you alright?" I nodded and shrugged the pain off, and I think Jeremiah could tell because he said, "Brothers don't lie!" I then looked down, ashamed and said, "I am in a lot of pain...but you saved me...You saved me Jeremiah" he then said, "Of course I saved you, Luke you're my brother, even though we constantly fight, I still love you bro" I smiled and said, "I love you as well".

Jeremiah's POV:

I really did care about Luke, and honestly, if anything had happened to him I don't know what I'd do with myself. I could feel the strength building back inside me. I weakly stood up, and then realized that I missed something... I asked Luke, seeing Kayla upset, "What happened?"
He then explained that a Demi-Dog had attacked Chris and died. I stood there in horror of just the thought. But I knew we had to keep going, we all knew that we couldn't stay out here longer than we have already, or else we could be killed as well. A little while later, I saw Luke walking in front of the group, alone. I jogged towards him, and asked, "You alright bro?" he surprisingly confessed, "I have been noticing your powers, and I was wondering what powers I have." I said, "Yeah, I've been wondering that too". I thought for a while and then asked Luke, "I can try to help you discover your powers, would you like to do that?" he eagerly nodded and said, "Yes!" 

Luke's POV:

I really wanted to find out what my powers were, but I also knew powers aren't toys, and they can be dangerous. After a while, I began asking Jeremiah what all his powers were, he explained that he had; demonic powers, healing powers, super speed, and telepathy. I wasn't going to ask him to show me because I already know it could be dangerous. Then, I felt a huge gust of wind blow into my face and messed up my hair, then we saw a lightning bolt struck about 10 feet away, and caused a tree to catch on fire, then the fire started to spread, for some reason it seemed like it was trying to catch me on fire. Before I could run away from the fire that was spreading towards me, the fire surrounded me, I was in the actual heart of the fire, except it wasn't hurting me one bit. Then the fire turned into what looked like electricity, but in the fire, it then turned into ash and fell into the palm of my hand. I saw Jeremiah in shock, he then said, "Luke, I think you might have fire manipulation!" I looked at the pile of ashes in my hand and smiled, I said, "WHOA!". 

Kayla's POV:

I was so impressed by Luke's new power. Luke turned around still holding the ashes in the palm of his hand he said, "Whoa! I have fire manipulation?!" Jeremiah nodded as he smiled at his happy brother and said, "apparently".

Jeremiah's POV:

I honestly had a hard time believing that Luke had fire manipulation, it didn't make sense. Fire manipulation was rare, especially since neither one of our parents had powers relating to fire. I thought for a little while and then accepted it. Then, I saw Luke fall to the ground, I looked over at Kayla who shrugged.

**In Luke's mind (vision)**

It took place 7 years ago, when I was 7 years old, I saw the second me and Jeremiah becoming friends, he was in 1st grade with me on our very first day of school and I saw him sitting in a corner crying, so I sat down beside him and asked, "Hey, d..do you wanna be pals?" He shyly nodded his head, and then I quietly introduced myself, "I'm Luke..." He then replied, "I.. I'm Jeremiah".

**Luke wakes up**

Luke's POV:

I then woke up from the weird dream or "vision" as Jeremiah called it. Jeremiah knelt down beside me shaking my arm and said, "Luke!" I jolted up and said confused, "W..what?!" Jeremiah then explained. I was confused, I looked at Jeremiah who was also confused.
