Epilogue

Just as the university president did his ending speech, toga caps were tossed around the hall along with hearty cheers.

We decided to wait in the bleachers seeing it was so crowded. You guys finally made your way through the crowd and approached us.

"Congratulations! You made it," Xiao Gui said as he hugged each of you.

"We'll definitely miss hanging out with you guys," Zhangjing muttered with a smile.

As they are too busy with their drama, you came to me and hugged me. "You better be a good boy while I'm away," you whispered.

"Yes ma'am," I replied with a chuckle.

"No, seriously though. Study hard okay? You still got two more years."

I nodded with a smile and kissed your forehead. You were flustered so you buried yourself on my neck. I laughed at the adorable sight.

"Aren't you going to eat each other or something?"

We turned to Xiao Gui, both of us giving him a death glare. He cackled in response. Wenjun pulled his ear to shut him up.

"Welp, this calls for a celebration. Come on, my family prepared something," Zhengting announced.

"What about our parents?" Suyin asked.

"They headed first along with mine. No worries."

We piled up on his van. Ruibin was about to seat beside you, but I hissed at him.

"Jeez. Possessive much?" he groaned.

You chuckled at our little bickering while I sat beside you. He stuck his tongue out to me and I did the same.

"You guys are so childish."

"You like me anyway," I replied mischievously.

You just rolled your eyes in response.

"You ready for a buffet Zhangjing?"

After eating dinner the Zhus prepared, we are playing uno except you who's busy chatting with your parents.

You suddenly called my name and I saw your parents staring at me. Oh lord. The guys whispered me a good luck and went on my way.

I greeted your parents with a bow first before standing beside you. Your mom gave me a warm look while your father stared me down that sent chills down my spine.

"Mom, Dad. This is Cai Xukun, my boyfriend," you said.

"Nice to meet you young man," your mom hugged me. Your dad still kept his mouth shut.

I held out my hand for a handshake as I introduced myself, "I'm Cai Xukun, sir." Your dad reciprocated the handshake, his grip a bit tight for my liking.

"Dad, quit with the act! You're really scaring him," you scolded him, stifling a laugh.

He broke down into a laugh and tapped me in the shoulder. "Sorry about that son, I just can't help it. Youu should've seen your face."

Relief washed over me. You held my hand and squeezed it for me to relax.

We talked for a long while until your parents decided to retire for the night. It turns out that they were friends with Zhengting's family for a long time.

You kissed me out of the blue.

"What was that for?" I asked.

"We won't be together for a while since I'm going to find a job. You need to focus on your studies and I don't like it if you'll be distracted because of me," you pouted.

I gently grabbed you by the shoulders. "Y/N, you don't have to worry about me. You focus on finding a job. I'll do anything I can to work it out. I'll study hard making you my inspiration and before you know it, we'll have a stable job together. I'm slowly building my future, with you in it. That's how much I care about you."

I could tell you were touched by my words by the look in your eyes.

I leaned in closer until our lips met. Your lips felt warm. It felt home. It was all good until I heard loud cheers, especially Zhangjing and Zhengting, screaming and rolling like retards.

You ignored them. Instead, you went for another kiss which surprised me a bit, but quickly regained my senses and kissed you back.
