CHAPTER 5
"Girl, you're such a whore, you got your birth control at a god damned drug store. Nah, that sounds like crap." Ivori is muttering to herself like a madman, writing down lyrics, then scribbling them out a second later.
Shaking my head, I lay back down on her bed, and continue to stare at the poster-covered walls and ceilings. What can I say? Music is Ivori's drug, like cutting is mine.
"Gah, you need to get going soon, it's 4:45 a.m. I was serious about you coming to one of our gigs by the way." Ivori trades her notepad for her keys, and stands up, stretching her stiff legs. We've been seated here since 2:45, not moving from our positions.

"Camber, we're leaving for Channing's game. Breakfast is in the fridge. It's 11 now,m we'll be back later." Carol stands in my doorway, trying to hold a conversation with me. I'm half asleep, not a morning person, and did I mention silent? Nice try, Carol but it's not gonna happen.
I hear her footsteps getting lighter, the front door slam, and a few minutes later the car leaving the driveway. Knowing that I won't be able to go back asleep, I get out of my warm, inviting cocoon of a bed.
Walking around the house, I make sure everyone is really gone before continuing with my plan. All of the meds are kept in a basket at the top of the pantry, for adults use only. Grabbing it, I search like a hungry beggar looking for food. I find my depression medicine, the bottle half full. I slip it down my bra, and go to put the basket back, but something catches my eye.
My pack of razor blades that were confiscated the first time Carol saw my scars. Jackpot.

IVORI POV
"So, Ivori Lankston, what would you say is your main inspiration for all you've become?" The interviewer hands his microphone over to me, and a rush of adrenaline courses through my blood. I'm doing an interview. My first ever interview. My band- The CareBear Killer's, first break. Holy Crap. Swallowing my nerves, I look the man in the eyes, ignoring the rest of the audience.
"Um, well, Black Veil Brides has been a huge one, our main inspiration along with Ronnie Radke from Falling In Reverse. Also, my best friend Camber." I smile nervously, glancing at our drummer, Arejay, for support. He flashes me a confused thumbs-up, not knowing that I knew Camber. His foster sister.
"Would you care to elaborate?"This guy, Dick, sure is personal. with his perfectly perfect combed hair, his fake tan, and I need sunglasses to see his blindingly white teeth.
"Well, Black Veil Brides, has taught us- or at least me, to never give in. It's as simple as that. Ronnie, on the other hand, he has shown me that life is gonna knock you on your ass, but every time you get up, you're that much stronger. Finally, Camber. The strongest girl I know. She may not talk out loud, but a true friend can hear." I smile creeps onto my face, just the thought of my best friend will do that to me.
"Oh, so this Camber is pretty close to you, yeah?" Moron. Didn't I basically just say that. Jeez, stop worrying about if your hair is perfect or not, and listen for once.
"Well, duh." The audience laughs, but I don't know what for. It wasn't really that funny. Okay, I know I may be a little grumpy because I got less than five hours of sleep, but seriously, this man is annoying. Whore.
"Okay, now Ivori, before we bring the rest of your band out, the other 'Killers' (Que corny laughter), is there anything else you'd like to say to us?" Thank god! The torture-it's almost over.
"Actually, yes. Give rock a chance, and that there is such thing as girl screamers. 'Cos obviously I'm proof." Sticking my tongue out, I stand up, getting out of the interviewee chair, and walk across stage. Right as I'm about to be out of the audiences view, I release my inner scream.
"OH YEAH. AND SCREW YOU DICKEY DO! GO GET A FUCKING LIFE!" Smirking at his horrified, expression, and the audiences TRUE laughter, I can leave happy.
Walking out, Arejay pats my back, and Lzzy, our bass player punches me playfully. What can I say? I'm a time bomb that can explode at any moment. As all those popular whore bitches say: YOLO...You Only Live Once. God, I can't believe I just thought that.
Walking across the street, I get in my car right as it starts raining. Again. I get my phone from the glove compartment where I hid it, and immediately turn it on. Once everything is loaded, my phone buzzes with two new text messages. One from mom and the other from Camber.
Hesitant, I click Camber's first, because when she texts, she means something important. The words before me make my heart sink.:
Ivori, best friend. I want you to know that I love you, and when no one else can, you hear my voice. My inner one, the one only a true best friend could hear. Thank you so much for accepting me, and not trying to to fix me. It means more than you could ever know. But- I can't. I can't do this anymore. Those eyes haunt me every day and every night, and I constantly live in fear thinking they will find me. So I'll make it to where they can't. No one will. When I'm gone, would you please make sure all those bastards won't claim they were always there for me. Because, in reality, the only people who've been there for me since becoming an orphan is you and Carol. I love you. Remember that. Please. This is it for me.
Love Forever,
Camber</3
