"He's not coming home."
She woke up with her eyes wet and glued shut. She could feel lips on her forehead, which is what made her decide to force her eyes open. She knew it was Ryan, but after the dream she had just had, she wanted to be absolutely sure. His concerned eyes threw her off for a moment before she remembered how her eyes felt wet. Had she been crying in her sleep? She didn't think the dream had affected her that much. "Hey, welcome home."
"Glad to be home," Ryan told her, watching her sit up on the couch she had been previously sleeping on. "Especially seeing how much I'm apparently needed here with you. What's wrong babe?"
"It was just a bad dream Ryan, nothing to worry about," Grimly tried to reassure him.
"Must have been really bad to actually make you cry though. You almost never cry if you can help it," he pointed out, sitting next to her on the couch and pulling her to him.
"Yeah, but you being here already showed me that the dream isn't true, and hopefully won't be coming true in the near nor the distant future," she leaned into him now. "I missed you."
"I missed you too, even if you do keep stealing my shirts," Ryan smiled to her, referring to how at the moment, the amount of clothing she had on was solely one of his t-shirts that he hadn't taken on tour with him.
After a moment, the two had started to drift off on the couch. With how long tour could be, it wasn't unusual for the first night after a couple months apart that the two would just fall asleep together on the couch. It was almost a bad habit of theirs to actually sleep on the couch despite having a bed in the home that they shared. But this time, Grimly managed to stay awake long enough to catch him falling asleep, making herself move and get up so as to convince him to go to their bed with her. With there no longer being something, or someone, to worry over, exhaustion seemed to hit him hard. Rather than the usual scene of the man lifting the woman off her feet to carry her to bed, as would be seen in movies and romance novels, his fatigue caused more of Grimly putting his arm around her and guiding him to bed before both of them were fully asleep for the next few hours.
