A year and a half later - West and I have been married for almost two years and it's been fucking fantastic. What can I say, I fall in love more and more every damn day with West and he's said the exact same about me. Wade is 2 and 1/2 years old and in three months from now, we will have our newest member of the family.

We decided to use a suroget this time around instead of adopting. We are going through a company that has surogets and we found a woman that we've absolutly fell in love with. We gave the company sperm from West and I and told them that we didn't want to know which of ours they used. We also had bought eggs from fertility clinic from a woman who has auburn hair and green eyes like Wade's in hope that our baby will be born with hair similar to Wade's.

We have Sara, our suroget over all the time, attend appointments with her, pay for her appointments, new clothes if she needs them, and we even pay for food that she's craving. Hey, she's carrying our baby, it's the least we could do. She's giving us a small piece of us.

During the ultrasound that determined what gender our baby is we found out that we are having a.......GIRL! West and I are excited to have a daughter. West and I are deciding between Sage and Sammie. We know her middle name is going to be Lynn-Marie, Papa's mom's name was Lynn and West's mom's name is Marie, his mom passed away when West was 11 years old.

We have her nursery set up, stocked with all her nesccesary items and it's ready to go for her. Her nursery is Wade's old nursery room and West and I have moved Wade into his big boy bedroom as he calls it. His room is similar to his nursery it's Superhero theme but with more Batman stuff instead because he loves Batman.

Three months later - Today is Sara's due date and everyone is excited to meet our newest Carmichael. West and I haven't still decided between Sage and Sammie but we've decided that upon seeing her, that if we still can't decided we're going to have Wade decide.

Since today is currently Saturday, today is family day regardless if our little girl is born today or not. Wade, West and myself are staying close to home in case Sara goes into labor but we're still going to go to the the 4-H Fair. Wade like myself loves the horses and bunnies.

By the time we left the fair after spending five hours there we decided to have dinner at the diner before heading home since we still haven't heard from Sara. After we had dinner and were heading home in my Jeep, my cell rings. Glancing at the caller i.d. I see it's Sara is calling and I quickly answer the phone.

"Hi Sara, how are you?"

"Hi Sawyer, I'm doing great actually, I'm dialated to 8 cm, so if you and West want to make your way here, that would be great, I hope we didn't interupt your family day."

"Of course not, I know we're excited for this and thank you again!" I say looking at West and he nods as he mouths, 'hosptial?' and I nod and he changes direction at the next available intersection. After talking to Sara and hanging up, I call Papa to see if he can meet us at the hospital to pick up Wade since he and Daddy offered to watch Wade for us while Sara delivers our daughter.

By the time we've parked at the hospital, Daddy and Papa are there to pick up Wade from us. With a smile and lots of hugs and kisses to our son and my dads, West and I head inside to the birthing unit while they head to thier home with Wade. Once inside Sara's room since she insisted that both West and I are in the room which we were so thankful and excited for. Two hours later, Sara gave birth at 7:37 p.m. on Saturday August 27, 2018, our daughter was born weighing in at 8 pounds 10 ounces and 21 inches long. Our baby has peach fuzz hair that is tinted auburn.

West and I were able to leave the hospital the next aftenoon with our daughter but not before we had Papa and Daddy bring Wade to meet his sister since West and I could not decide on her first name.

Wade, as soon as he saw his baby sister looks at her than at me while I was holding her says, "Sage, baby Sage Papa."

Smiling at West before turning my smile to Wade, I nod, "Yes, baby boy, this is your baby sister, Sage."

When Sage was discharged we went back into the room with Sara and her son, who's fifteen, and let her and him hold Sage before we left and thanking her again and her reply was that she would be more than willing to this for us again if we ever decided we wanted to have more babies.

Life throws us in the strangest directions but those strange directions from where we thought our lives would end up are the greatest adventures along with you are travelling those adventures with you.
