I've always been treated differently. Special. Better than others. At least in some way.
My parents got divorced when i was seven years old. After that my dad moved to LA. Mom got weird when that happened. She always wanted to show him what he left behind, so she put me into all those model contests and stuff like that. People somehow seemed to like me though. I won a lot of those contests. I got into a business by 16. At the age of 17 I was somewhat of an professional. And that takes us today.
(Since i just wasn't able to find a picture of what I imagined her to look like i'm going to throw a quick imaginary picture in here. She's about 5'6" so pretty small but that's okay because she's only modeling for pictures. She's got hazel eyes and ash blonde hair. She has pale skin and a few freckles. That's basically it. The rest is up to you. I just don't want to confuse your imagination.)
"Luna are you ready? We have to catch a flight." Mom asked, peaking her head into my room. I zipped my suitcase and got up from the floor. Today was the last that for a long time probably that i could breathe german air. I'm going to miss munich.
I nodded my head yes. "Good. Should i help you with that?" She asked, pointing at the suitcase. I looked at her perfectly manicured nails. "It's alright thanks." I answered. We went outside and mom opened the back of the car for me. I lifted my stuff in there and got to the front.
"So Luna, don't mess this up. This could be the final step for your career. A big step. Just do what you are supposed to do. Think with your brain and the most important thing is..." "don't listen to your heart. I'm a strong independent woman and my career is more important than guys. Dad left you with nothing. I know mom. Don't worry." I ended her speech. "Also don't just interrupt people if they talk to you. You might come off as petty or something. Just behave." She told me and i nodded as response. I turned up the volume of the car radio so she wouldn't talk to me about these things again. She did that every time and I grew sick of it.A few hours late i landed in LA. Some agent was already waiting for me with my suitcase. I went up to the tall man who was wearing a suit. "Hello. I'm Luna." I wanted to shake his hand but instead he just nodded. "I'm Mr. Brown. Follow me. Mrs. Wade is already waiting for us." He started walking and i followed him, sticking my hand into the pocket of my jacked confused.
Soon after we got to a car. He pulled a key out of his back pocket and opened the back door for me. I got into the car and he closed the door again.
We drove for almost an hour. Traffic was horrible. The car stopped in front of a big building with large windows. I heard the front door opend and close again. My door was opened soon after. I got out of the car. The man gave me a singn to follow him.
We got into the elevator and he pushed the button to floor four. He got ut of it and walked into a office. I heard voices coming out of the room. When I stepped into it, there was a Woman sitting in at the desk and a boy, barely older than me was sitting on the couch. He looked mad. "Oh hello! You must be Luna." I took a step forward, shaking her hand. "Hello, nice to meet you." I smiled at her. "Please sit down." She pointed at the couch, where the boy was sitting. "So, how much did my secretary tell you about the job?" She asked. "Not much really. She told me I had to work in a team and it's somehow acting." I thought about the talk I had on the phone a while ago. "Basically yes. So this is Luke Hemmings." He sighed annoyed next to me. "He's in a band and they are going to drop an album in a few weeks. Basically we need you guys to fake date. Get the fans heated up a little bit. So for the next few months, we want you to... you know, post some pictures with together on social media, go out and do some couple things. Luna go to their shows, stick up with them if they are going somewhere." She explained a lot more things but I wasn't really listening anymore. The poor guy, I thought.
After she was done speaking and I signed my contract, we had to go. She told me to just go with Luke because he should introduce me to his bandmates. He left the office, stomping towards the elevator. He didn't say a single thing to me so far. After he got out of the elevator again he walked towards some black Mercedes and pulled out a key of his pocket and got into the car. I hesitated to get in until he opened the door again. "Get in already." He growled. I just nodded and got into the backseat. He drove pretty aggressively.
Luckily we stopped a few minutes and a few heart attacks later. He got out and I followed him tight. A guard at the door opened it for us. Luke went ahead and went into the elevator again. Silence. I could only hear our breathing.
When we got out he walked to a door. Another guard was standing in front of it and I was able to hear laugher coming through it. Luke unlocked the door and the laugher died down. "How is she?" I heard a voice saying. I saw Luke rolling his eyes. "Is she ugly?" Another voice asked, in that moment I stepped into the room. "Well that answers my question." Said a tanned guy with brown eyes and brown, almost black hair. "Hi, I'm Luna." I said, waving awkwardly. "Hey, I'm Calum." He introduced himself. "This is Michael." He pointed his chin in the direction, a guy with red hair was sitting in. "And that is Ashton." Now he was pointing to a guy with dark blonde, slightly longer hair. "Hi." Both of them said in unison. Luke let himself fall onto the couch Calum was sitting on. I was about to sit down too when my phone rang. "Wade?" I said into the phone. "Hello Luna! This is Tina speaking." The woman said. Tina was the Lady from the office, i recalled her name tag that was standing on the desk she was sitting behind. "Yes, hello!" I replied smiling. A trick my mom had taught me. If you're smiling while on the phone you sound nicer. "Are you at the boys place yet?" She asked. "Yeah I am." I looked around the room. Luke was playing on his phone. "When you are ready go down to the lobby and tell them your name. You'll have a room at the same building. I can't guarantee that you are on the same floor though." She told me. "Alright I'm going to do that thank you." I smiled politely even if she wasn't able to see it. She said her goodbye and ended the call. I put my phone back into my pocked. "I.. uh gotta go." I let the boys know though I'm pretty sure they didn't even care. I need to calm down. It's just a job. Calum nodded and said bye and i walked out of the room.
At the lobby a nice woman greeted me. "Hello, your name please." She said. Linda was standing on her name tag. "Wade, Luna Wade." I told her. She nodded and typed something into the computer that was standing in front of her. "Room 439, floor 5." She said, smiling nicely. Great. Of course i had to be in the same floor as they were.
I got into my room. It was nice and cozy. Since I was pretty tired from the flight and the driving around i just stepped into the shower, brushed my teeth, took off my make up and jumped into my pajamas. The bed was soft and simply perfect. I actually wanted to watch some videos or something but my eyes already started to feel heavy so I decided to just go to sleep. My alarm went off at 7am. I got up, brushed my teeth, put my hair into a ponytail and got my jogging clothes out of my suitcase, which was brought here by the agent who picked me up from the airport. I silently closed the door on my way out and walked to the staircase.
At the lobby I bumped into Calum. He took out his earphones and greeted me smiling. Morning people. How I hated them. "On the way for a run or already coming back from it?" He asked. "On the way." I informed him, forcing a smile. "Want to go together? We could grab breakfast on our way back." He was still smiling. "Sure, breakfast sounds great." I answered.
During the run we didn't really talk to each other luckily so I was able to listen to music and got a chance to really wake up. We ran together the whole time, when I noticed that I was running too fast, I slowed down and vice versa.
On the way back Calum stopped at some place called 'Amara Kitchen'. It looked really cute from the outside. There weren't even that many people inside of it as you might think in case of it being in LA. Quiet jazz was playing. Everything smelled like pancakes. I ordered a chocolate pancake with strawberrys and a cup of english breakfast tea with a shot of milk. We sat down at a table further in the back where we were basically alone.
"So where are you from? You don't sound very American." Calum wanted to know. "I'm actually from germany." I told him. "What about you? You don't sound American either." I smiled at him, eating a fork full of pancake. "I'm from Australia. Well actually all of us are." He informed me. "You don't look like someone from Australia." I blurted out. "Stereotype much huh?" He joked. "Just because we don't look like surfers doesn't mean we aren't." He laughed. "You're telling me that you're actually surfing?" I asked excited, I always wanted to try it out. "Actually no I don't. Ash tried it once but Luke does it." He took a sip of his coffee. "Luke doesn't want all of that at all, does he?" I wanted to know. "Not really. But I mean I get him. If I was in his place I would't want to either. It's just... well imagine a whole lot of girls who would throw themselves on you and all of your friends would be allowed to mess around with them but you have to play taken. You'll hear all of the storys from your friends and you can just sit there like you just weren't allowed to." He looked at me. "He can mess around all he wants, it's just a job for me, I don't care." I furrowed my eyebrows. "Yeah, you don't care, the agency does though. Just give him some time. He'll warm up to you. I mean he should be lucky they choose you. They could have chosen the other girl too." "The other girl?" I asked. "They had two candidates. You and another girl we already know because... well she's actually known for doing those kind of jobs. I met her once, she's doing everything to become famous." He rolled his eyes. "I mean don't get me wrong. It's fine to want to become famous. The difference is if you actually want to do it because it's your job like you said or because you want to become cliche Hollywood fame, the kind of fame where no one actually knows what you did but everyone knows you." He continued. I wanted to answer but then my phone rang. 'Tina' was written on the screen. "Sorry I have to take this." I excused myself as I answered the phone call. "Luna! I hope I didn't wake you up! But today we want you and Luke to spend your day together so just meet him at the hotel. The security guards will bring you somewhere. Be there in 20 minutes please." She spoke without a break for me to answer. "Okay, I..." "Great, have a nice day bye!" She interrupted me. "Thanks yo..." she already ended the call. "Sounds like Tina." Calum looked disgusted. I just nodded. "What did she want?" He wanted to know. "I'm supposed to spend the day with Luke." I answered. "Great then let's head back. You don't want to be late believe me." He said standing up. "You would be right with that." I answered quietly.
We ran back to the hotel and i quickly got into my room to take a real quick shower, put some make up on and change my clothes. When I got into the lobby Luke was already waiting, looking annoyed as always. How should this end up good?
