[Virgil's pov]

"You're right, Roman. I'll go call him" I said. They all nodded, in sync which was creepy, and I went to my room to call him privately. Hope he'll pick up.

"Hey, Alex?" I said when I picked up the phone. Why did I say Alex? I meant to say dad. Am I really that nervous?

"No, Liam actually. Your fathers are um...busy. I just got home, and was on my way to...help them, when I noticed his phone was ringing" Liam explained. My parents are-nope, don't want to think about it.

"Ohhhhkay then. Well I um..." I started to say. Why was this so hard for me say? He's your dad, Virgil. The worst he could do is help you.

"Son, what's wrong?" He asked. Just take a deep breath and say it. You can do this, Virgil. One word at a time.

"We got denied, again" I answered. Now, that wasn't so bad. That was surprisingly nice to get off my chest.

"Why didn't you tell us earlier? How long have you been trying for?" He questioned. Worry laced his words, and I didn't have to see him to know that he was making his usual worried face.

"It's been a year. Sorry we didn't tell you earlier" I replied in a quieter tone. I hope that wasn't to mumbled. We should've asked for their help earlier. Maybe we wouldn't have to go through so much pain and sadness.

"It's fine, Virgil. You didn't have to. What did you need from Lex?" Liam said. Oh yeah, that's why I called. Should I just tell him or call back when they're...done? Eh, I'll just tell him.

"Well, you guys got approved, and um we wanted Alex to um well help us" I said. Ugh, I said um too much. I was too nervous over this. Why?

"Oh I'm sure he'd gladly help. I'll tell him after we...finish up" Liam told me. Oh, that's good. We say our goodbyes, and Liam hangs up quickly. Guess he's excited to go join them.

Oh god, I need holy water...or bleach.

Dad to the rescue. Also, I relate to the last line. Well anyways, thanks for reading. Comment, vote, whatever.
