Merfolk lead this place, it is rules by a monarchy but all ( not exactly ) underwater races reside here. Those who live here live a caste system that may seem similar to things you have read before but make sure you get all the information for this.
Alphas Betas Omegas
Your rank is born into and it's based on your class in society. This a social concept and has nothing to do with anything else ( like my abo Roleplay). If you are born higher up in class or with a beautiful abnormality such as wings you are ranked as an alpha. If you are born as an average citizen and have nothing special about you or your family then you are ranked as a beta. If you are born in the lower class with a rather disgusting looking abnormality or possibly no abnormality at all, or you may possibly be mutated then you are ranked as an omega.
Some races are all classified under one ranking, for example all sirens are seen as omegas and all royal merfolk are considered alphas. Sirens do not live in Atlantis, nor do the sharks.
All those who live in Atlantis hate the shark people. It is a long standing feud with much prejudice and a serious superiority complex on the Atlantis side.
