After our English class, Sylvia, Annie and I headed to the cafeteria right away. I still couldn’t forget about what Clark told me lately; it keeps on bothering my mind. I shook my head to take those frustrations inside my head to disappear.
“We’ll order.” Annie said then they went to the counter of the cafeteria to order our food.
I don’t know what to eat. I am really out of my mind this time. Good thing those two girls know me that much. Since that incident happened in my life, they already know how to adjust and understand me in the best way possible. I know sometimes I am difficult to deal with but they really amuse me; they know me when I am frustrated.
I looked at the two who were already approaching our table. I feel guilty for not telling them about my involvement with the four. I don’t know if I should tell them the truth about me and the four delinquents or not.
“We ordered your favorite.” Sylvia said cheerfully, “Chicken Adobo!” she added.
“And apple and pineapple juice for a healthy living.” Annie added then she placed the tray on the table.
“Thanks.” I said trying to be cheerful at them.
“I really had a hard time starting a conversation with Austin.” Sylvia said when she sat down on the chair.
“Me, too. Billy is really annoying. He doesn’t even look at me when he talked.” Annie said in grimace.
“How about you?” Sylvia asked me.
What should I say? I just sighed and made another lie again, “Clark is not that hard to deal with. I had a great time talking to him.” I said trying to be cheerful.
“But why is it that your energy seems like they’re all drained?” Annie asked while eating her food.
“I really don’t know what’s with me. I just don’t feel the day.” I said then I drank the pineapple juice.
“You wanna die?” we all stopped from eating when we heard that tough voice all of a sudden.
We looked around the cafeteria to see where that voice came from, and our eyes landed on the corner of the cafeteria.
It was Billy. He was holding the collar of the student’s publication writer, Norman. I could see in Billy’s eyes that he was really mad. He looked at Norman with fierce. Even I, I felt scared by just looking at him like that.
I saw Jack talked to Billy to calm him down. Austin and Clark were just looking at the two with serious expressions. I don’t know if they are also mad but they just remained out of the scene.
What surprised me the most was the next thing that happened; I found myself walking closer to them. I stopped the moment I was already beside Norman. Everyone in the cafeteria was really shocked. No one dared to come close to them except me.
I also didn’t know what gotten into my mind. I just automatically did it!
On the moment I met Billy’s eyes, I felt pain. He’s not actually scary. He’s scared. Yes. He’s the one who was scared.
“Mandy.” Jack said still holding Billy’s left arm.
“W-What do you want?” Billy asked in furrowed brows then he loosened his grip at Norman’s collar.
