imma change the name sometime but now they are just imps. please help choose a name for these guys!

appearance: they look like fennec foxes, but they have colorful glowing fur. they have gigantic ears and really fluffy tails.

leader: imps have chiefs. chiefs can be any gender and, before the current chief dies, he chooses the new leader, who could be any imp that is the right age(sixteen human years). there are also the elders, who have lived for thousands of years and are the wisest imps in the village. the chief can be from any rank and have any abilities(for more info, see imp ranks).

habitat: all of the imps live in a gigantic tree(which also needs a name).

imp ranks

imps also use ranks. no rank of imps are treated with disrespect, but certain imp ranks are highly respected. imps inherit the rank and have to be born with the abilities needed to be in the rank. being a chief is the only rank that doesn't need inheriting, but if the chief dies without choosing a chief, their heirs inherit the rank.

medic: medics specialize in herbs and healing. they live closest to the chief's hut. most medics live inside the tree trunk. medics are one of the highest ranks of imps and always should be treated with respect.

abilities: medics can breath a glowing mist that is the same color of their fur. when they breath this mist over a mix of herbs, the mist sinks into the mix and turns it into a glowing soup-like liquid that garanties instant healing.

mages: mages specialize in magic.  they normally prefer to live further from the village, only going there to raise their kits. they wear capes and can be very mysterious. they are more revered than respected.

abilities:  they can shoot out balls of light from their mouths that are mainly used for a source of light(hence why i called them balls of light. you are all amazed and totally didnt expect that they would be like that lol), but they can also burn any living creature that touches it that isnt an imp. some can summon and control mist.

soldiers: mostly only used for policing, since the imps havent been involved in any wars for a really long time. they prevent fights from breaking out and they also prevent robbery, but none of that happens in the village, either because the imps are too peaceful, or they are afraid of getting caught. soldiers like to wear unique armour even when they aren't in fights.

abilities: soldiers are very agile and have very long claws that are retractable. the claws contain a venom that can be released on the imp's command. the venom i only deadly when the soldier ingects a lot of venom into the enemy, but even then then there are plenty of remedies for the venom. when it isnt deadly, it quickly tires the enemy out and gives them a severe headache. soldiers, when guided by the general, can fly in the air in circles around the enemy, creating a blinding hurricane that will stun the enemy. with the enemy stunned, the soldiers can attack.

general: the general leads the soldiers to battle. they have the same abilities as soldiers do, but they are stronger and wiser. they are instinctively good at strategy. the general also wears unique armour, but they also wear a crown instead of a helmet.

blacksmiths: blacksmiths make the armour for the soldiers and the generals. they are normally seen with some patches of fur missing, but thier leaf clothing protects them most of the time. it is common to see a blacksmith that is covered in scars.

abilities: can breathe fire, but the fire can only burn rocks and minerals. they have glands in thier claws that contain a glue-like substance that they use to stick gems to helmets and suits. they have fireproof skin but, sadly, no fireproof fur.

hoarders: hoarders are the most trusted imps in the village. they protect the gold, metals, extra herbs, and other valuables. they live scattered around the village.

abilities: they are really agile and have night vision. they also have a special instinct that lets them know when other imps are nearby.

traders

traders are very skilled as spies as well, but they prefer to use their skills to trade while staying anonymous..

abilities: they can bend the light around them to almost become invisible. they also have great night vision.

trading

fireflies:imps trade fireflies, which are a very common insect in their tree, but very rare anywhere else. they can be great pets for small creatures, but others prefer fireflies for food or for medicine.

armour: they also trade armour that is made by the blacksmiths. imp armour is very rich in gold, silver, and other expensive minerals because the village tree's bark contains chunks of minerals. the armour is also very unique and no creature(besides imps) has been able to make armour as sturdy and fancy as the imp blacksmiths can.

tree bark and leaves: the village tree bark is a very commun trade yet it is very expensive. is contains small chunks of rich gems and minerals such as gold, silver, diamond, quarts, and many more. the tree leaves are also quite expensive but it isn't as popular. it does provide a great source of light and is great for medicine when crushed.

Edit: all imps except blacksmiths have feathered wings, but only mages and generals can fly.
