From Dark To Light, A Star Wars The Old Republic Story

Prologue

Korriban, 3643 BBY (Battle Before Yavin)

"Zacarbis! Get back here!" said my younger brother, Curnit. He was annoying, but I loved him. He was chasing me around the tomb of Ajunta Pall. We were supposed to be mining and searching for artifacts our Sith Masters want. Holocrons, datapads, ancient tablets, you name it, we'd find it.

"Slow down!" Curnit yelled to me. I wasn't going to. He wanted the artifact I found so that he could get the rest of the day off, but I wasn't going to let him.

"You'll have to catch me first!" I yelled back at him. My brown hair was flying in my face, my bare feet burning from stepping on rocks. I could see the exit, I was so close I could almost feel the heat of Korriban's surface.

I ran outside the tomb and onto the hot sand. I could feel the sting of the sand on my bleeding feet. I looked for an Inquisitor everywhere, to give them my artifact. I ran around the crumbling statues, old and forgotten tombs, soldiers, other slaves, and then I saw her. A new Inquisitor by the name of Nelith. She had blonde hair, with green eyes. She was about my height at the time, 5' 5". She was wearing elegant purple and black robes, with a hood on top of her head to keep out of the sunlight. I ran over to her, artifact in hand.

"My lord, I have brought you an artifact from Ajunta Pall's tomb." I was looking down at my feet, so that the Inquisitor should not have to look me in the eye. I raised the artifact above my head and bowed.

"Good work, slave." Was all she said. She placed the artifact in her k'lor'slug skin pouch which was hanging on the back of her belt. Once the artifact was situated to her liking, she asked me to come along with her. I had to comply or face death... or worse.

AUTHORS NOTE:

In the Old Republic Era, the Sith had a way of ranking their subjects. It goes in this order (If you are not Force Sensitive, you do not get past the rank of Slave) :

Slave

Initiate

Acolyte

Apprentice

Inquisitor (For lore based people) / Warrior (For combat based people)

Overseer

Lord

Darth

Dark Council

Emperor

Korriban:

K'lor'slugs:
