my father made my siblings and i sit down,
saying that he had an important announcement to make.

with respect, we all sat around with our undivided attention, to listen to what he had to say for himself
he busted out into tears and began to explain his feelings of remorse and owed it to his parents.
he wanted to change and become a better person for his parents.
as he sobbed, the blank expression on my face had not changed.

i was asked, "why don't you feel bad? why don't you care?"
oh, it's merely because dad is still confused.
he lost his wife and kids, he didn't once apologize for tearing this family apart,
from branch to branch.

Nothing,
sorry dad. But I'll learn to shorten my visits.
One day of your presence, is enough.
