Rule 12: Bittersour taste

A few weeks had passed, Sana did not contact you at all.

She really did what you say this time.

You went up to the door entrance and paste a notice on the glass.

"Eyyy... Y/N Kun. You're closing the cafe to further notice?!" Hiroshi Obasan asks as she comes in the cafe with her husband. You nod, "Hai. I'll be away for quite some time so this cafe will open until further notice." While you telling Hiroshi Obasan, Hiroshi Ojisan read the notice that you just paste on the door. "Today is the last day?" His eyes widen while reading, you smile weakly. "Hai. Got some personal emergency stuff I need to handle."

Hiroshi Obasan walk to you and hold your hands in between hers, "Is it about your health?" You shake your head, "Boy, we know is about your health. Recently, you've not been well. We always look at you getting headaches often and  blink your eyes so much." Hiroshi Ojisan saw your reaction while his wife asks you.

You smile weakly, "Hai. But I will be fine. I just need to rest for quite some time. But will be back soon." You smile to them, it was the most genuine smile you ever show them. "I hope I don't have to send the young ones before we do." Hiroshi Ojisan sarcastic remark while his wife smirk at you.

"Today will be on me. I will brew both of your favorites. Aeropress coffee."

At noon, no one but you in the cafe. Hiroshi couple had to left early today as their son and daughter are bringing their families over to have a little reunion with them. Well, to be honest, you're quite envy with their reunion with their children and grandchildren.

You brew yourself a cup of coffee and walk over to her favorite area. As usual, you always sit opposite of hers and you start staring at the space. Unknowingly, you had flashbacks of her way back you guys had met.

Your Okasan left the house to the grocery to get ingredients for that night dinner. While you were to asked to take care of Sana make sure she doesn't complain about you when she come back from the grocery. Sana was at the living room playing with her Barbie toys, flipping magazines and some read some Japanese children's phonics books whereas for you, you're in your own room playing toys or playing console games.

Sana got bored and went to knock your door but she got no response from you. Thus, she tips her little toes and grabs the door knobs with her two small hands, she slowly turns and pushes the door. She saw you focusing on your game and doesn't realize her existence, she pouts with her little arms across her chest. She turns around and went back to the living room.

Suddenly, you heard a loud knock and fall from the living room and you click your tongue. "Oi! Minatozaki!" You got no response from her, you quickly paused your game and ran down from the stairs to check on her.

You saw no one in the living room. "Ehh? Where this girl has gone to?" You asked yourself, you went to the kitchen, your parent's room, the bathroom, and toilet. There is no sign of her, you're getting worried. "Oi! Mina... Minatozaki...! Where are you?! Don't... scare me!" You ran back to the living and check. Turns out she was lying on the ground of the side table, "Ya! Sana! Don't scare me!" You walk over to her and walk her up. However, she did not respond. "Oh no!" You quickly pull out the dinner chair towards the sink. You climb up the chair and search for something that can wake her up. You grab a cup there is beside the sink and fill the cup with some water. You jump down from the chair, "Ita..." a sudden sting pain appears when you jump down from the chair.

You dip your hands into the cup and splash water on her face but she didn't respond. You got flustered and look at the clock in your living room, wondering when your okasan will return. Just in time, you heard the sound of a bunch of keys. You quickly get up and ran to the the door, the door unlock and your okasan saw you jog on the spot, "Y/N kun... What happen?" You look at her worriedly, "Okasan... Sana... Sana..." You point to the living room and your okasan hold grab your hand. "Come bring me to her." You pull her hand and brought her to where Sana is lying, "I heard a loud sound coming from the living room and saw her lying down here..." Your okasan let go of your hand and walk over to her, "I walk her up but she did not respond... I put some water on her face and she did not respond too." Your okasan slowly turn her body and head around, carefully examine her. "She is fine, she just fainted by hitting her head at the corner of the table..." You let a sigh of relief, "But you're in a deep trouble mister." You look up as your okasan look at you coldly.

While the flashback still in your mind, the headache start to form as well.

While Sana is in your room resting, you got scolded from your okasan. "I told you to look after her why didn't you look after her?!" You hang your head low, "See now what happened? She fainted because she trips herself and hit her head at the corner of the table!" Your okasan put her arms across her chest. "But she trips herself..." You stood in front of your okasan and butt back softly.

Sana woke up due to the scolding coming from the living room was so loud, she climbs down of the bed and slowly walks out of your room.

"She trips herself because of you! You don't even bother to play with her! She might go upstairs looking for you but you didn't respond to her! When she gets down the stairs, she trips herself!" Your mother glared at you while Sana walks down a few steps and watched you got scolded from the stairs. "She is a clumsy little girl... She needs someone to take care of..." You hang your head even lower than before.

Sana witness everything herself. "Now, I want you to go check on her and report to me! NOW GO!" You nodded your head and head up to your room. You saw her sitting on the stairs and walk up to her, "Feeling better?" You asked with your guilty tone and she nodded, you patted her head and she grinned. You turned around and about to walk down the stairs, she stops you. "What you want?" She stands up and gives you a hug, "I'm alright!" She whispered into your ear and you nodded. You hugged back her.

From then you both grow closer.

You throw your head back as your headache start to get you.

During elementary days, you keep a lookout for her everywhere as you can't help it because she always attracts unwanted attention due to her clumsiness. You squat down and rubbed her bruise softly, "Can you stop being clumsy?" You asked coldly. "Ita.. Gomen... I can't stop..." She smiled while you wipe off the dusk on her bruise. She gives you a kiss on your cheek, "Ahh!" You placed your hand on your cheek. "Arigato!" She giggled and walked away.

You close both of your goddamn eyes and massage your eyes as you lean forward where your palms are since the pain got intense behind your eyes. "FUCK!" You shouted.

"Fuck!" You run towards Sana as you saw her lose her balance. You caught her before she falls on the ground. "I'm... I'm fine... Just go away..." She said weakly while you put one of her arms around your neck and try to carry her to the sick bay. She tried to push you away and you got pissed off, "OI! I will carry you to the sickbed if you continue to be like this!" She did not care and started to fidget out of your arms. You stretch your neck and carry her bridal style. She fidgets even more and starts hitting your shoulder telling you to put her down, "Put... Put me... Down... Y/N...!" You can hear her voice is weak than usual. You ignore her and carry her, "STOP! You going to bloody hell injure yourself again!" You clench your jaws as your energy start to drain.

That was the very first time you and her interacting after she caught you smoking in the alley with your teammates.

You hear someone enter your cafe as the door hit the bell.

"Y/N." You shake your head just as the sound getting fainter in your ears.

"Y/N?" You slowly make your way out of the seat.

Just as you take all your strength to get up but you lose your balance...

You fainted and fall to the ground...

"Y/N!"
