Pregnant. Uta was walking back to her apartment, hand resting on her tummy. She was growing human life inside herself.
Sakura had confirmed what Nobue had told her and had dragged her to the hospital to get checked. Tsunade had decided to do the exam herself. She was almost two months along and was showing signs of it being a healthy pregnancy. Tsunade had given her instructions of what to expect and things she needed to change going forward.
Uta sighed. Her students were not going to be happy to hear that she wouldn't be able to train any of them following the second phase of the exams. But she would find the best teachers she could. Maybe she could convince Kakashi to train one of them.
Kakashi...
She bit her lip. What would his reaction be? He hadn't ever really shown much interest in having kids. Heck, he had even said that he couldn't picture himself as a father, since his own father had died when he was just a little boy. Would he be happy about this? Or would he be upset? They hadn't planned this, but...
She should have expected it eventually, since they hadn't used condoms or birth control once since she had woken up. Honestly, she was almost surprised that it hadn't happened sooner. Sure, Kakashi would pull out almost every time, and sure they usually didn't actually have sex when it was around the time of month that she would be ovulating. But being Tsunade's student, she should have remembered that those didn't actually count as forms of birth control.
Uta had made it to her apartment and let out a heavy sigh as she walked in. "Woah, now that's a heavy sigh. Careful or you'll sigh out all of your happiness." Uta jumped at the voice that greeted her. Kakashi was standing in the doorway to the kitchen, Uta's pink apron draped over his figure and a lopsided grin on his face. "Kakashi?! You're back?! I thought you didn't get back for another week!" Kakashi chuckled and walked over to Uta, ruffling her hair, "And people say that I'm bad with timing. This mission was only a month long, and that month is over. Now come here, I missed my Uta snuggles." Kakashi drew Uta into a hug and pressed his face against her shoulder, swaying her side to side slowly. Uta hugged him back, but her mind was in full panic mode now. He was back too soon! She hadn't even processed things for herself yet! She was counting on at least a few days to figure out how to tell Kakashi what was happening! But he was here! Now! Should she just tell him!?
No...he just got back from a long mission. She should let him settle in first.
Kakashi seemed to sense her turmoil and stopped his swaying to step back and look at Uta's face, "What's wrong?" Uta jumped and looked away with a nervous laugh, "O-oh! I hadn't planned to have you back tonight, so I don't have anything picked out for dinner!" Kakashi chuckled, "Well no need to worry about that. I already grabbed stuff and was in the middle of cooking when you got home." Uta took a deep breath to calm herself and managed to act normal, raising an eyebrow as she looked Kakashi up and down, "Is that why you've decided to try out this new look?" Kakashi took a large step back from Uta, gripping the edge of the apron and twirling, striking a pose as he faced her again, "Come now Uta. You can't say that I don't look amazing in this." Uta giggled, feeling her tension beginning to melt away. "Hmm well I did always have a fantasy about coming home to you wearing an apron, but I'm pretty sure that in that fantasy you had considerably less clothing on under the apron." Uta winked.
Kakashi took on a shy pose, "You want me to do the 'naked apron' look? But I'd feel so embarrassed to wear just an apron." Uta stepped forward and swatted Kakashi's arm, "As if you'd feel embarrassed. You would revel in the attention you'd get from it." Kakashi chuckled and turned Uta towards the door, "Well, it isn't too late. Go back outside, count to thirty, then come back in and say that you're home." Uta laughed as Kakashi pushed her out the door, "You aren't really making me leave and come back are you?" Kakashi nodded, "If course I am. I promised to help bring your fantasies to life didn't I?" With that he shut the door in Uta's face.
Uta pressed her hand to her face and giggled. She loved her dork of a husband. She slowly counted to thirty. She tried to bite back the grin on her face as she reopened the door. She stepped into the apartment and shut the door behind herself, "I'm home~"
"I'm in the kitchen~" Uta pressed her hand to her mouth to stifle her giggle. She walked over to the kitchen doorway. Kakashi was sure enough in the kitchen again, and sure enough he was now wearing the apron. Only the apron. Uta grinned as she checked his backside out thoroughly, "That's a good look honey." Kakashi glanced over his shoulder, clearing trying to supress his own grin, "Oh~ my love I'm so glad you're home." He turned to face her and slowly walked towards her, "You must've been working hard today. So what would you like first? A shower? Dinner? Or...me?" He slid one of the straps of the apron off his shoulder and batted his eyes. Uta couldn't keep her laugh in and she pressed her head against his, "Oh Kakashi, as if there's any doubt which one I would choose." She tugged at his apron, "I obviously choose dinner. I'm so hungry."
Kakashi made a disgruntled noise and Uta giggle before placing a kiss on his cheek, "I'm teasing. Of course the only thing I want to devour right now is you. Will dinner be ok if we leave it unattended for a while?" Kakashi let out a purr as he pressed himself against Uta, "Mhmmm, It's only just started cooking, so we have some time to spare." Kakashi began peppering kisses on Uta's neck while working her vest off her shoulders. "Today is one of your safe days, right?" Uta tensed. She let out a sigh. She couldn't lie to him. "Kakashi...I need to tell you something..." Kakashi began sliding Uta's shirt up, "Can it wait?" Uta shivered when Kakashi nipped at her ear, "You might be upset if I wait to tell you..." Kakashi hummed and nibbled down Uta's neck. Uta bit her lip, "Heck, you might be upset anyways..." This caught Kakashi's attention. He leaned back and looked into Uta's eyes, "What is it? Are you ok?" Uta nodded.
She took a deep breath and made herself look into Kakashi's eyes. "I'm pregnant."
(Damn Uta, do you really think telling him when he is only wearing an apron is the best time to tell him something so important?)
