i was sitting in the front seat of my dads car as we were driving to the hospital. it was raining slightly, just enough to put droplets of water on the window of the car. i thought it was pretty to look at. i had nothing else better to do in the mean time. dad and i don't get along very well because mom always held us together and now that she's ill and in the hospital, we have no reason to "get along". my mom is my everything and that goes for my dad too. if she goes my dad has nothing to keep him going.
we arrived at the hospital and i lazily got out of the car dreading having to see my mom. i just hate seeing her in this state. she was always so bright and happy and energetic, but now she can barely move and she smiles every so often.
as i walked into her room she looked towards me and my dad she then smiled weakly, witch broke my heart.
"there's my little bunny" my mom said as she pinched my cheek making me smile in response. her voice was raspy and she looked tired, she had bags under her eyes and she was really pale. i'm surprised she's even keeping her smile on her face. it's sad.
"hi mom..." i said trying not to sound too sad. i didn't want to make my mom feel worse about the whole situation. i sat there silently as i watched my mom and dad catch up on random things. i didn't want to rudely interrupt. my mom noticed me being left out of the conversation.
as my mom was about to say something to me the doctor came in looking stressed and tired.
"could i please speak to your parents alone please?" the doctor asked me. i simply nodded and walked out.
*3rd person pov*
the doctor sighed and rubbed his temples "i don't know how to tell you this but.... you only have a few days to live...i'm sorry.."
