That single gaze

My land was known to be isolated, an because of this the beauty of it was kept, unaffected to the harsh ways of humans..

Im a human myself, yet i haven't seen any other humans in a while.. i mean, i haven't seen anyone in a while. The thoughts somehow led to my stomach, making my stomach growl in hunger.

Alright alright~...

I looked around, gazing at the opening that the branches made with the trunks of the trees, seeing which ones where closest to the ground.

My hands caressed the bark of the tree gently, lifting myself with one lunge, jumping to the tallest branch the tree had.

Fruits gleamed with light in front of me at the far end of the branch, just staring at me. i slowly balanced myself on the branch, trying to be as gentle as possible to the branch as i went closer to the fruit. as my hands graze on the peel of the fruit, my whole body, along with the tree shook tremendously, almost causing me to fall off from the branch.

My eyes averted towards the shadow that quickly passed the tree i was on, towards my favorite pond. i looked at the fruits once more, quickly grabbing it before i jumped down, running towards the pond...

I walked to the nearest part of the pond where the grass was long enough for me to hide in, and i moved my head around the grass, trying to see what went towards the pond.

As my vision relaxed and focused, i realized that the object was tremendously large in size. its coat was a dark velvet. the coat gleamed from the water, making it so much prettier in my eyes.

As the object moved away from the water, i realized once more that the creature with its velvety coat wasnt a human, but a centaur..

I remember reading about them, for their beauty was shown through their division of the body of man and horse, but i never imagined that id see one.

But when i went to step closer, the sudden noise of the grass made the centaur look at my direction, making me leap inside. before i went to leave however, its clear eyes made me stop in my tracks. they pierced me, just like a hook does with a fish, and i just stood there... dumfounded about the beauty in its eyes. they were crystal like, with so many shades of grey that my mind got lost in counting.

As the centaur brushed his damp hair away from his face, his long black mane flowed down to his lower back, making him irresistible. i wanted to say hi... but how could i~? ...

I just stood there, frozen..

Just that single gaze pierced my stomach like a blade.
