School dragged on, with people asking me every second if I was the girl who had broken Silvo's skateboard. Worry filled my head with how I would get the money and I kept replaying the humiliating scene in my head over and over again.
"Are you okay Lois? That must have been so embarrassing." Ella kept asking me throughout the day.
"Did we go to a party last night?" I asked, hoping with all my might that we had and this was just some misunderstanding.
"No, it was a school night. I went to bed early but I don't know, you might have."
My heart sunk so deep in my chest I didn't think anything could pull it back up. It had all been a dream. My beautiful, fairytale night had been a figment of my imagination. My shame and humiliation had doubled to what it had been this morning and I felt like falling into a hole and staying there for the rest of my life.

The end of school loomed closer and closer and I dreaded having to tell Silvo I didn't have to money on me. He already seemed really angry, I didn't want to make him hate me anymore than he already did. Why could I have not just stayed invisible? It had been just fine for the last three years so why was my first time of being in the spotlight such a negative one?
As soon as the final bell rang, panic exploded inside of me. I tried as hard as I could to walk slowly and prayed that he wouldn't be bothered to wait for me, but as I peered around the large, glass doors, I could see his distinctive black hair above the sea of people.
He looked fuming.
"Hey! Where have you been? I've been waiting for ages." He yelled in his chocolaty voice as soon as he spotted me creeping toward my car. Spinning around I tried to pretend I hadn't seen him.
"Oh, sorry, I thought you'd left." I tried to laugh but it came out as more of a squeak.
"Yeah, yeah. What's your name. If were going to spend the afternoon finding me the perfect skateboard, I need to know the name of the clumsy fool that broke my perfectly good one." He smirked.
"Um, it's Lois." I murmured.
"Why did you take so long to get out of school Lois? Last period ended ten minutes ago. And I told you to meet me after school." He looked like he could kill someone.
"Well Mr Lawrence kept me behind. Sorry." I lied.
"I know that's not true because I just had Mr Lawrence and you weren't in my class." He smiled triumphantly.
I shuffled my feet awkwardly. "Um, I've sat behind you since September." I muttered, hoping this wouldn't annoy him. He looked genuinely taken aback for a few seconds before replacing it with a smirk.
"Anyway let's go. I haven't got all day to waste with you."
I looked at the ground before looking up at his big brown eyes. They were the same colour as milk chocolate.
"I don't have any money on me." His eyes went from brown to black in the space of a millisecond. His face clouded up with anger and he looked like he would start screaming at me any second. He took a deep breath and his eyes returned to normal.
"Get it." He paused and looked at my sheepish face. "Get it, now."
"Well, um, I'd have to go home, so if you don't mind waiting..."
"I'll come with you. See what kind of shack you live in."
I was a bit taken aback by his rudeness, but chose to ignore it and not let it get under my skin.
"Okay, well I'll just get my car and you can follow me to my 'shack'."
I trudged towards my car, before he grabbed my arm and pulled me to face him.
"You have to give me a lift."
"Why?" I asked, slightly annoyed.
"Maybe because you broke my mode of transport this morning?" He glared at me with stony eyes.
"Oh yeah. Sorry."
As I unlocked the car door, I heard Silvo trying to hold in his laughter.
"What?" I asked defensively.
"Nice car." I could hear the sarcasm dripping off his voice.
"Well you don't even have a car, so I think I'm doing a bit better than you." I snapped.
"Actually I do. And it's ten times better than this pile of junk. I just choose not to use it."
I sighed and climbed into the drivers side while he climbed into the passengers side. He was quite squashed in my small car considering he was one of the tallest boys in the year. However he wasnt lanky; in mine and obviously Ella's opinion, he was perfectly proportioned, with toned arms and just the right amount of muscle.
"You're cars a bit small isn't it." He muttered.
"Maybe you're just too tall."
He smirked. "Don't get cheeky. You don't know what I'm capable of."
